Losing to Lehigh makes that projection of Hawks going 22-2 in BIG suspect.

Nebraska and Indiana both scheduled tough out of the box. Iowa did also. We’ll know more about Iowa after next weekend.

I have been critical of what I perceive to be an overly influential role played by d1 Baseball but I noted earlier today that Iowa actually climbed two spots in d1 Baseball's poll released today.

Seems like they understand that "baseball happens" . . . particularly on Sundays and early in the year.

It's interesting that Iowa schedules (and other teams do as well) games against schools like Loras and Grand View. I'm not sure I see what the benefit is other than cheap wins. The games don't count towards RPI, but do get to be counted as victories.

Rick does it to see pitchers and 2-3 deeps. It’s practice.

Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State and Purdue are in.

Maryland, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern and Rutgers are eliminated.

Illinois has clinched at least a share of the Big Ten title. Nebraska can clinch a share and the No. 1 seed in the BTT with a win in the regular season finale vs Michigan State -AND- an Illinois loss to Purdue. (Tie-breaker is record against common Big Ten opponents: Nebraska is 13-5, Illinois is 12-6) Any other scenario gives Illinois the conference title outright and the No. 1 seed.
