This is going to backfire in a big way for the people of NY. They basically fined him for a victimless crime for something that is a common business practice of the last 100 years. Opens every NY real estate investor to prosecution. Of course, the governor came out and all but said it was just a political persecution.

There was no fraud here,.. The banks involved did their due diligence, developed their own market valuation for the collateral that was being offered, determined the risk involved, chose to make the loan, collected both principal and interest payments, and ultimately made a profit.
The banks made the deals and were repaid on THEIR terms with the interest that THEY set. How are you going to argue the banks got screwed over.
Again, you can agree or disagree with the practice but that isn't the point. The point is they prosecuted someone on a practice that has been and is used be the entire financial sector in NY and around the US. If you are being honest with yourself, it is nothing more than a modern day assassination attempt.

Property taxes are based on assessed valuation of your property per the county or municipality. People don't set their own property taxes. Let me know when they start doing that so it can save me about 10K a year!

I just don't get it. The man was caught on a live recording saying he can sexual assault women solely because he's famous. He's bragged about finding loopholes so he doesn't have to pay taxes. He's already been in trouble for using charity funds illegally. He's bragged about walking into dressing rooms and seeing teenagers at his pageants. He's bragged about helping clear rubble after 9/11. He's proven time and time again that he's a piece of shit human being and always has been.
Yet there's some folks on here that just think it's completely impossible that he committed fraud, took classified documents, then lied to the FBI about it, and that it's also impossible that he attempted to overturn an election despite being CAUGHT ON TAPE doing exactly that.
But it's Biden and his DOJ's fault, and Trump is innocent and people just don't like him so they're framing him.
