Final Ranking

KenPom #19. 2012/13: #25, 203/14: #28

Sagarin #21. 2012/13: #28, 2013/14: #26

Those tend to get me more excited. Good level of basketball the last three years.

Actually, let's have a little fun with rankings. The last three years, starting with 2012/13 and listing KenPom first, Sagarin second. Some interesting stuff. Just imagine if the NCAA invited and seeded based on these two services!!!

Illinois: 39/40, 49/51, 69/55
Indiana: 3/3, 67/54, 53/38
Iowa: 25/28, 28/26, 19/21
Michigan: 4/2, 10/9, 75/66
Mich St: 9/10, 9/5, 15/11
Minnesota: 26/19, 48/39, 58/52
Nebraska: 130/129, 44/59, 133/103
Northwestern: 132/125, 131/128, 118/96
Ohio State: 7/9, 20/19, 21/17
Penn State: 148/155, 82/92, 82/77
Purdue: 61/76, 97/83, 48/34
Wisconsin: 13/15, 6/4, 3/3

Some Trivia:

Maryland finished 32/27 in 2014/15.

Illinois at 39/40 was invited to the NCAA with an 8-10 Big Ten record in 2012/13. Iowa was not invited with a 9-9 Big Ten record, and standing at 25/28

In 2013/14 Iowa gets one of the last four invites to the NCAA with a Big Ten record of 9-9 and rankings of 28/26 while Nebraska gets a better seed with a 10-8 Big Ten record and rankings of 44/59

If one averages these finishes out, Iowa is easily at #4 best in the Big Ten in best rankings over the last three years. Only Michigan State, Wisconsin and Ohio State are better. Not a bad rebuilding job!!!!! Imagine if we ever manage to recruit and game coach or whatever it is we don't always seem to do right.

Point on the invites versus Nebraska and Illinois are a little off....obviously the rankings are AFTER the season, not before the NCAA Selections.

Speaking of final rankings, it's really absurd when you think about it that UK isn't #1
