Stopped into a Mexican Bar Restaurant in Tomah Wisconsin where I live. Had on my Hawkeye hoodie, the owner asked if I was a fan. Of course I am I said. You like Castro he asked me, yup good player I said. I’m his uncle. We had a nice visit.

I have a feeling he’s going to go down as one the most under appreciated players of the KF era.

Yeah I don't think so. Anyone who knows anything knows who he is. Dude was smart (as were others) in coming back and letting the year of offensive NFL draft take place. If Castro has a good year this year, I can see him going early second round. He is kind of like Cooper, in that he could fit a couple different positions and he hits like a rock. (last year I said he should be up for the hit man award)
He definitely brings the wood. Viagara would be a good nickname?
Castro is going to have a breakout year this year. Book it!
I think most people that follow the program closely and the staff certainly values him. I just mean, I don’t think he gets near the regional or national attention he deserves.
Was thinking the same thing. He may be the leader on the D... kid really brings it.
castro is as valuable a defensive player as sanders was or more recently cooper. iowa fans know this but that said his contributions have somewhat flown under the radar. this year though he’ll have to handle a lot more fanfare, hope he’s up for it.
The young man has great instincts on the field. Clearly one of the best we have ever had.
There’s a reason Sanders gets brought up 20 years later. We haven’t had a single player that was basically everywhere and was just a bad dude on the field.

I think he’ll be a pretty good safety in the NFL, a la Micah Hyde. Athlete who knows zone coverage, can hit like crazy, and great at open field tackles.
You will have to define breakout. He was a badass last year. This guy coming back was bigger than any recruit we could have brought in for this year. Reads the offense as good as any hawk defender that I can remember
He broke out when he injured that Maryland stud wide out on the kick return. Devastating hit.
Stays healthy he’ll have a productive NFL career. Prob go anywhere as high as 2nd round and low as 4th.
