On the one day of hope - signing day. After 3 years of a fullback running as a halfback we leave the recruiting casino penniless again. A dedicated running program unable to sign a quality back for half a decade. Peachy, right Gary Barta.

This is largely do to the fact of what you stated. We have been running a FB at the RB position for 3 years now. Our dedicated run game looks very very sad when compared to other schools with dedicated run games. We have not done well to showcase the RB position to recruits since Coker left.

Just stay the course. It will take a good 5 years for the new facilities to pay off with recruits. This program is an absolute joke, along with the entire staff. Kirk better run out to Solon and see if we can get a commitment from a farm kid whose dream was to walk on at Iowa. Go get 'em Kirk. Actually it's snowing, Kirk won't leave the house if its snowing, too risky.

SINCE NONE OF THESE ARE FB's why are so many bitching

RSFR Hilliard,

just don't see a single FB in that group,

also the fall back recruit is 6'1 210 lbs Graham out of Alabama, some of you need to check out his vid's his are more impressive than Higdon

in another threads I posted, when I looked him up ESPN listed him at 5'8 195 but the video lists him at 6'1 210 lbs. the 1st stats I listed came from ESPN before his videos started showing up,

in his video he shows the power and speed needed he also showed he can catch the ball as well,

Of course, now he is better than Higdon. Is he better than all of our backs as well? We don't have a B1G caliber back on the roster.

Pretty much any recruiting video makes a kid look "great." Not saying he doesn't have talent but this is a fallback recruit and this staff did a poor job on the recruiting front. This class is more in line with one of Kirk's early classes.

As a fan of 35 years and having seens lots of ups and downs in Iowa athletics, this staff really is sinking the program. And yet we still have the "rah rah" fans who try to spit shine every turd.

In life, I am glass half-full type of guy ... But seeing our recruiting classes hover in the #50 or spot and knowing that is pretty much in line with how we are finishing on the field ... ios simply disheartening. The reality of things is our program is not very good; we aren't recruiting well and the program is heading South ... quickly ...

Good news is...there are about 40 bowl games a year, and Iowa should keep getting an invite as long as the schedule remains "creatively selected" for a "winning" record.

Ah, shucks, I don't know why there are so many complaints, we went to a bowl again, you can't win them all. That's football.

The only confirmed absolute joke in this thread is the poster who claimed Iowa football is an absolute joke.

Not to mention this staff can't be expected to hit full stride on the recruiting front until about 2022 or so...
