Time to blow up the FBI into a million pieces...

Outside of my knowledge. If memory serves, that is an issue that he wanted the amicus to address and I anticipate that the issue will be addressed at next week's hearing. Although it may pain you to read or understand, a judge who appoints an amicus to assist the court in "getting the right...

Time to blow up the FBI into a million pieces...

Hard to rule on a motion to withdraw plea when the matter is taken up on an unsuccessful appeal. Case is stayed during that time. Sidney Powell rolled the dice and lost with that ploy. As for appointing an amicus . . . that ridiculous illegal and illogical move by Judge Sullivan was...

Are you talking about Judge Sullivan . . . the judge that, on two separate occasions, offered Flynn the opportunity to withdraw his guilty plea?

Trumps Potential SCOTUS nominee belongs to a Cult

Democratic Senators asking questions need to keep one thing in mind - there is literally no question that they ask which will be answered in a manner that would result in more than 4 Republican Senators voting "no," her withdrawing her candidacy or DT Barnum withdrawing her candidacy. Ask the...

Arland Bruce has arrived & is practicing w/ Brody Brecht at Ankeny. As of now, INELIGIBLE to Play.

I didn't read this Q&A with Tom Keating from August 11th: https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/sports/high-school/2020/08/11/covid-19-transfers-high-school-football-ihsaa-executive-director-tom-keating-jake-rubley-iowa/5581314002/ Here is one of his answers: Tom Keating: "Really it comes...

Here's the tweet from a Waukee fan regarding Isaiah Emanuel at SE Polk.

Starting to look more and more like the IHSAA essentially defers to the school's determination of whether the kid meets the rule and only intervenes if there is a complaint raised by someone. If I'm putting 2+2 together correctly, Bruce was determined to be eligible by Ankeny. He appeared to...

    Race to 270 . . . 6/3/2020 . . .

It has been a couple of months since my last post re: www.270towin data and there have been some recent polls released. According to 270towin.com, projected total number of electoral votes in "Safe," "Likely," and "Lean" states remains identical to 6/3, 6/17 and 7/27. Total electoral votes...

This is from the IHSAA's ruling: "Interpreting the term 'residence' to allow for multiple residences would render the General Transfer Rule meaningless and this is not permitted as a tenant of statutory construction. ... Because there can only be one residence, the IHSAA must determine that the...

They didn't conclude that a person can only have one residence?

I understand the position of the committee quite well. They concluded that a person can only have one residence. They concluded that Bruce's mother is not "residing" in Iowa and that she is "residing" in Kansas. So, of course, they concluded that her current "living arrangement" in Iowa...

The rules are set forth in writing and, by law, must be applied by the IHSAA in a manner that is consistent and not arbitrary. The specific exception to the 90 day "sit out" period at issue reads: "Contemporaneous change in parental residency." In Arland Bruce's situation that IHSAA...

Is it "fair and reasonable" to the opponents of #1 ranked SE Polk that they have two transfers from Nazareth Academy in Illinois? One will likely end up in the MAC and the other will be playing in the FCS division or D-II. Do you really believe that both of these kids' parent(s) suddenly...

Nah . . . I'm betting it is the parents of kids who happen to be wearing jersey numbers in the upper 80s and are currently seeing playing time.

No less so than the other transfers who are in Iowa solely for football reasons. For the reasons laid out in my post, I'm not sticking my head in the sand and buying the "contemporaneous parental change of residency" ruse for the other kids.

For me, the bottom line is that the issue of transfer eligibility should be governed by a clear and unequivocal standard; the standard should be neither vague nor ambiguous and not capable of varying interpretations depending upon the whims of the decision makers. Sounds to me like the IHSAA...

PSA - wear a mask to support college football

This is pretty funny. I know lots of people who support DT Barnum, including friends, business partners and clients. And I have productive and spirited conversations with them about politics. At the conclusion of our discussions, we continue to be friends, pursue the same business goals...
