    Thomas Fidone to Nebraska

I think most Hawkeye fans have already moved on from Fidone. He would have been a nice get, but we're pretty set at the position for the foreseeable future. I'm more excited at the opportunity to land Mac Markway in the 2023 class; kid looks the part and seems like a text book "Iowa guy."

Would they play multiple games at some...

New Story Oliver Martin in the transfer portal

Given that it’s looking even more likely that football will be cancelled this fall, I think OM has a pretty good chance of being able to transfer to another D1 school and gain immediate eligibility, assuming the season is in fact cancelled. I wish him luck, I was thrilled when he announced he...

Kirk Ferentz addresses the issues with a statement

Great input ASUHawkeye, I'm happy this thread has, thus far, been relatively civil and provided some good dialogue among fans with differing opinions on the matter.

Kirk Ferentz addresses the issues with a statement

I'm definitely on the side of listening to what people have to say before coming to a conclusion and you've made some very valid points about not wanting to speak out as an individual against an entire program. However, the U of Iowa has a couple Dr.'s dedicated to diversity who work closely...

Kirk Ferentz addresses the issues with a statement

You'd be surprised...I'm told recruits now have "stress cards" when those pesky drill Sgts who are, you know, preparing you for stressful times and war become too mean.

Kirk Ferentz addresses the issues with a statement

100% agree, but nothing that's been stated from former players, that I've seen or read, would be detrimental to someone's mental health unless there were some underlying or unresolved issues. Perhaps I'm wrong or missed it, but are there any specific examples of traumatic experience(s) at Iowa...

Kirk Ferentz addresses the issues with a statement

"..such a traumatic and life changing experience at Iowa" "detrimental to my mental health" Maybe I'm insensitive, but these guys are coming across as Charmin soft. I can emphasize with the culture change and struggle to adapt, but seriously, traumatic and detrimental to my health? I spent my...

Kirk Ferentz addresses the issues with a statement

Right? I mean how many players have left over the years and were free to air any grievances against Iowa at that time, but we're only now hearing all this? Doesn't add up in my opinion. Iowa runs a strict program and it's not for everyone, but racist and prejudice against players of color is not...

Kirk Ferentz addresses the issues with a statement

Definitely agree regarding other former players stepping up and addressing these claims, but a majority of this info/claims are just coming out, so there is time to clear the air. In my original post Stone, Wirfs, & Devonte Young all shared praise for the Iowa program, to include Ferentz &...

Kirk Ferentz addresses the issues with a statement

Yeah maybe, I mean there are probably a lot of players over the years who weren't real happy with the culture of Iowa, but elected to stay for whatever reason. Certainly a possibility those are the ones being most vocal right now. Could be totally wrong, but I just can't get on board with the...

Kirk Ferentz addresses the issues with a statement

Alright, first off, if it comes to light that Doyle disproportionately treated players of color differently than whites, let him go. However, I'm not going to jump the gun here because I haven't seen anything so egregious to fire him on the spot. Ferentz places an emphasis on developing as a...

What role will Oliver Martin play this year

I think a big key to OM or any other WR gaining an edge to seeing the field hinges on the chemistry built with Petras (presuming he is in fact our starting QB). Given the loss of spring practice, building chemistry with a first year starter will be essential. As others have stated, a crowded WR...

    Florida, Georgia and Texas

In addition to population and climate advantages, football is truly a way of life for a lot of states in the south. Lived in Texas for a bit and have visited relatives in Alabama and the HS facilities and stadiums are unbelievable. Also, just based on what I've seen first hand, kids are playing...

OT : I hope my Hawkeye friends are doing well

Appreciate it Pepsi. I had the opportunity to visit the Charleston area this past fall and we were ready to move there by the end of the trip. Stay out of public places

Yeah, I'm not sure what OP considers "simple precautions." I work in the pharmacy department at UIHC and I can assure you that the majority of health care professionals I've had conversations with are very concerned about COVID-19. A long read, but well worth the time about the exponential...
