    The Future Of: Iowa Hawkeyes

All of the line up uncertainty does not worry me. We are in the age of NIL/Portal. A team with as much money as the Hawkeyes have they could fill any holes in a hot minute.

    Massoma Endene

Have any of you watched his matches? Kid has 1 season remaining and can't possibly jump enough levels in that amount of time to be the starter. Very good D3 wrestler with a below average gas tank. This doesn't work well at D1.

    Next NCAA championship-

Anyone, including Iowa, in order to win it all will need to buy a team. I think we all realize that by now.

What I learned at NCAAs this weekend

I find it interesting that Big Ten schools would be interested in Taylor or Askren. There is a lot more to running a big time D1 program than teaching technique. Personally, I would feel more comfortable with a proven commodity.

    Iowa vs OK State

Haven't seen our current 184 lbers name brought up. You all saying he is out of the running for any starting spot next year?

    Schwab

    HAHAHA

Is the Brands' era entering Zalesky level?

Iowa has (will have) the greatest facility in the world. Iowa has money for NIL. They are in the top conference in the NCAA. Iowa has been a top 5 program since 2008. Sounds pretty good to me. The only way it will get better than that is to make a coaching change. I don't think that would...

    Riggins

Happy Riggins got the win. I don't care if it was against a backup with a 4-5 record.

    Joey Kennedy to Iowa

IMO, this will ruin college wrestling. The NIL rules must be changed and enforced by someone other than the school's compliance office. I know many schools are offering recruits a percentage of a scholarship and then picking up the rest of the u-bill through NIL. So, basically, there is no...

    Riggins

Most 184 wrestlers are at 200 in the summer. No college wrestler is gaining that weight naturally. He weighed 176 for Nebraska dual. He is a 165 but there is no spot for him at this time.

Food for thought regarding Ferraris and the Iowa Room

What is the price for NCAA points? What is the staff willing to put up with, deal with, handle.....in order to score more points in KC in March? That's what it comes down to IMO. I can't believe there is any other reason. I suppose I should add fans to the equation. What are fans willing to...

OK, so now what does our lineup look like?

A few "back ups" for a traditional Iowa line up. Unless something changes a trophy in March is unlikely.

    UNI

At mid-majors like UNI it is more common for facility upgrades to be privately funded by alumni, boosters, fans, donors etc. As crappy as it is that UNI is not currently building a wrestling facility I also place blame on the wrestling staff for not moving forward with a fundraising effort to...

    2024 Lineup and Expectation

That would be a GREAT season. Can Ayala comeback from multiple shoulder injuries and be better than he was 2 years ago? Woods should win a title. Franek is super tough and will be right in the mix. I don't see Caliendo or Kennedy or Arnold top 4 at NCAA's. Each could AA but no guarantees...

NDSU AA's Caliendo and Franek Announce Transfer to Iowa

Riggins should find a school who wont recruit over him multiple times and enjoy his remaining 4 years.

NDSU AA's Caliendo and Franek Announce Transfer to Iowa

    This is a joke, right?

    Rosselli out at OU

    He did not quit.

    James Rowley in the portal

UW is portal heaven. They get a lot of guys and lose a lot of guys. Who has UW developed anyway? Anyone?

    Schwab heading to OU?

That is exactly what I said - He is happy in Cedar Falls. I simply made a statement that most D1 coaches would choose Illinios over UNI if give the opportunity. Schwab did not and I am sure he has good reason for staying. Most would not have.

    Schwab heading to OU?

The job is about winning. Like it or not. The programs which are winning have the most money. Fact.
