Dochterman says the Offensive Line blocked very well & Looked the Part against a very good Iowa Defense

Eyeballs don't lie and also, stats don't lie. Offense is easy to measure---points or lack of points scored in case of Iowa offense. Casual fans were able to see we had a fat QB with mobility and accuracy issues, turnstiles on OL, and slower/smallish/lessor athletes at WR with bad hands...

    Deacon Hill in Transfer Portal

So you think it was BF's or KF's idea last year that Deacon was the man and Lainez didn't deserve any snaps---my guess would be it was KF's call. KF saw his kid get fired, his offense has been a national joke, and the new OC came in and right away saw what Fans were already...

Most Big Ten teams are killing it in the portal. We better get an administration committed to the portal or it's a self inflicted death penalty.

By my count since roughly 2014, Fran has donated to portal Fleming, Christian Williams, Ellingson, Wagner, Pemsl, Hutton, Dailey, Johnson, Dickinson, Moss, Fredrick,Ogundele, Ulis, Perkins, JoeT, Bowen and brought in Uthoff, Bakari, Rebracca, and Krikke. Of the guys that transferred out 13...

Amarion Nimmers Practice Highlights are IMPRESSIVE. On Aug 3, enters Transfer Portal

Wow, more interesting than the entire Hawkeye Womens Basketballl forum.

    Trouble in Wisconsin?

Or fed up with NIL situation.

    Welcome Drew

Curious to find out how much NIL he is getting.

Wow, the Illini are cleaning up…

Illinois has been adding1 1-2 difference makersfrom Portal for awhile now. Ohio State had $14 million dollar Football NIL budget last year, so we're not competitive in Football either. The amount of money needed for Iowa men's B-ball NIL to be competitive isn't that big but NIL is big...

Drew Thelwell visiting April 15 (6'3 guard; ONE Year Eligibility). Camren Hunter on April 18 (Has TWO Years Eligibility)

Considering we only have a single PG on the roster---then yeah, getting a guy like either of these two PG prospects is a must, even if they aren't as good as the two players we lost. . Otherwise it will be like the year Bohannons Freshman year when there were not backup PGs and Fran had...

    Perkins to Mizzou

I think your numbers for CEO salary at $50 million revenue or market value, either way is low. Tony is going to make $500K for 1 year....his B-ball career very well might be under $1 million for his career if he ends up as overseas caliber player with no sniff of NBA. Fran has been making...

    Perkins to Mizzou

He's well above average for Big10 and college...whether he is NBA prospect is different discussion. Good luck Tony. Wish our NIL was better..

    PMac to Butler.

Fran did his boy no favor by giving him obvious special treatment. In the end PMAC was a worse player and PMAC took much of the criticism for Fran's own failings. Matta will insist on defense/rebounding or PMAC sits. Matta is 14-18 and 18-15. Giving PMAC a schollie is not a...

Why is now not the right time to part ways with Fran?

All the coaches at mid majors making $250K/yr with no NIL would jump for chance to make $3.2 million/yr at Iowa. Maybe some of them would also do better job raising NIL. At the juncture we are 1-2-3 years away from replacing Fran. Maybe he'll suddenly do something great.

    PMac to Butler.

With none of his boys playing for him, Fran must be planning his exit in next couple years, assuming Beth doesn't extend his contract. This is good for PMAC...he'll either rebound/defend and improve as player or sit.

How upset would you be if our transfer players all returned?

Good question....what does the NCAA do now? It is an amalgam of super conferences and mid majors. Tony Perkins isn't coming back, if he did that would be great. Bowen not going to get much in NIL market, so he'd be cheap insurance to sign to come back, but he knows he'd be 2nd fiddle, so...

Two Kentucky boosters have just pledged $4 million for basketball NIL. Our AD has to put pressure on boosters and alumni for NIL...

John Deere customers are more likely Iowa State grads and ISU has a good basketball program to fund and Iowa has a meh program. . Other corporations you mention have 50 other states to consider. Iowa has one good product i.e. a winner and that has been good for Catilin but doesn't move the...

$200,000 is the starting point for an Elite Point Guard. Player not yet in Portal asking for $1,500,000

You could buy $2300 worth of Swarm Beer and maybe end up feeling better. Yeah, I don't think the Athletic Director is too keen to lose the Revenue from donations linked to I-club/better seats and funnel it to Swarm. So we're probably going to be non-competitive.

Iowa Men 17th in the B1G next year???

8th or 9th place seems good starting estimate. This past year was another successful B1G season of 0.500 or better as long at you don't count BTT.

Drew Thelwell visiting April 15 (6'3 guard; ONE Year Eligibility). Camren Hunter on April 18 (Has TWO Years Eligibility)

"This past season he averaged 10 pts, 3 rebounds and 6.2 assists for Morehead State. He shot 33.8% from three and 43.5% overall" HIs stats kinda say he's only a little bit better than that Bakari dude Fran brought in, not a guy that will command piles of cash. Hard to believe there is no one...

    Transfer Portal Targets

Our roster seems kind of lean in numbers. What we don't need is another lanky, slow twitch, below the rim, minus defender, minus rebounder in 6-5 to 6-9 range.

    Transfer Portal Targets

Kinda looks like Jack McCaffery, the one that got away.
