    Correct. You can increase your insured value, but most try to keep premiums contained or at insurers predetermined $psf. I believe Trump is being accused of claiming his properties are worth more so he would get more favorable rates. That's ridiculous.

    And you certainly don't want to increase the value of your holdings for insurance purposes. The higher the insured value, the higher the premium. Insurers actually determine the insured value of the properties. Owners have zero say in it.
