    All-time favorite Hawkeye wrestlers

Jimmy Zalesky was my favorite by far Massive love for Ed Banach and Barry Davis (just so damn good every match)

    Your favorite Hawkeye matches?

I was at the Simpson/Voelker match... it was amazing, the noise level My personal favorite was Jim Zaleseky beating the tar out of Nate Carr in the duel when Iowa St moved Carr up a weight class... Royce Alger pinned an Okie State wrestler that moved up a weight once too. Alger kept pushing...

    Why good posters leave HR

this is the most truthful statement on this board in a LONG time. Post anything and all the whiny snowflakes get their backs up against the wall and post their favorite comment "Eat a d***" the one thing that was great about this board is that the mods don't expect you to kiss their asses all...

IF Teasdale ends up at Iowa...

Obviously... since half the comments on the thread are about transfers, how dare I speak about transfers...

IF Teasdale ends up at Iowa...

What's the problem with transfers? If it makes you a better team then it would be dumb to not take transfers... UNLV built a basketball dynasty with transfers back in the day

Simpson vs Volker - January 1988

I was there as well, and CHA was as loud as I've ever heard it. I was way up high in the nosebleed seats, but my parents were in the front row, cameraman caught my mother and father pumping their fists in the air celebrating the win (got cut off in this video just before they were shown)

Best Hawkeyes not to win NC

I was there in 1979 (it was in Ames) when Trizzino lost that match, now I was only 14 when I saw it, but I seem to recall that he lost the match because of a difference in riding time in OT? it was a difference of 2 or 3 seconds

    Best Ever Hawkeye Wrestler

Zalesky was my all time favorite Hawkeye wrestler (with Royce Alger a close 2nd), but I'd give Ed Banach the best Hawkeye wrestler ever. I was in Ames when Mark Schultz beat Ed in the finals of that NCAA tournament...incredible match

    Explain your screen name

That's interesting to me because I have been to prison... in many states... Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Wisconsin and West Virginia I've dropped people off and picked people up in Arkansas. And picked people up in the other states. Thusly my name... I'm a Benton County Deputy

    Hawkeye Lightweights

I recall watching when Lewis dislocated his elbow... I rubbed my elbow for about 5 weeks afterward... Great list, while I'd probably put Barry Davis 1st (only because I saw Barry wrestle so many matches and moved from Iowa just before Brands wrestled there). Anyone else recall Davis "quitting"...

    DT Shut TFU

I'm just forever grateful that SLPCAN (formerly ESPN) takes the time to show the wrestlers mommies constantly throughout the matches... always so riveting and interesting to all wrestling fans!!!! (Super Liberal Politically Correct Network)

    Finals Predictions

My only question is... when Lee wins the title, will Terry Brands want him to throw him again? New tradition at Iowa? Win the title then throw a coach?

    Jason Nolf

but you couldn't just ignore this thread... and now your silly post has backfired on you NEAT!!!

    Jason Nolf

I'll join in... Penn State wrestlers are tough as hell, fun to watch and go out to dominate their opponets. I root for Iowa, but I enjoy watching Penn State wrestle. Nolf had a great semi, Retherford is dominate like usual and Bo Nikal is amazing to watch. Mark Hall is my least favortie Penn...
