    The point is both parties are pretty feckless. I’d make the argument what Menendez did is 10x worse than anything Santos did. Santos was a non power having back bencher in the House. Menendez was chairman of the Senate foreign relations committee.

    If we could just balance the annual budget the national debt would shrink as a proportion of GDP just because of GDP growth and inflation. Seems impossible as we're posting $T+ annual debt year after year at this point. We're probably screwed until austerity measures are forced upon us...

    Agree but China is a totally different animal in this regard. They could put a hurt on the "west" if they wanted to if we engaged in this type stuff with them. It's probably hurt them more but at a pretty high cost. Russia? Not so much. I'd be for it if it wouldn't have such adverse...
