"[Bohannon] was invigorated by McCaffery telling him that players on the current roster wanted him back, and that he could become a focal point in the Hawkeyes' fast-paced offense"
Per the DMR, Jordan announces he is BACK!

Great to see. This team seems like they won’t run out of gas like the 15-16 squad did. Getting a high seed will boost Iowa’s chances of a deep run in March. They are playing like a 1 seed right now.
Lot of tough games left on the schedule, though. Two each vs OSU and WI, plus road trips to IL...
He had 17 points against ISU. Not much since then. IMO his best role is as a rebounder/putback guy. Shouldn’t try so hard to be a stretch 4—focus on what he does best.
How often do we shoot 18% from three? How often do we shoot 54% from the charity stripe? How often do both of those things happen in the same game?
Gonzaga is great, but iowa missed a lot of open looks today. They did not. Gotta learn to toughen up and get stops when the shots aren’t falling...
I hope he can be a difference maker, but who knows when he’ll be ready to come back. Losing your dad so suddenly and so young, I imagine, would be very hard to cope with.
And just think, it was only two years ago that Dolph got caught on a hot mike complaining about how bad our guards were. Things have changed a lot since then.
I'm excited to see what Patrick can do now that he's put on some weight and gotten healthier, but with all the experience on this roster his most effective role will be as a spark plug off the bench. Start Connor at the 4, and sub in Patrick and Jack as needed.
You make a good point with your...
Hopefully the arena will require spectators to provide proof of a negative Covid test within 48 hours of the game, plus digital temp taking and mandatory face coverings.
Bohannon has over 100 career starts. He's a fifth-year senior and a team leader. You don't keep that kind of experience on the bench. If he's healthy, Bohannon will start. The real question is whether he starts at point guard or shooting guard.
I agree with OP: Fran will start the season with...
It would have made more sense to focus on regions for 2-plays considering Covid-19. Only getting one game each against Nebraska and (especially) Illinois, while playing Rutgers twice, is a head scratcher. Oh well.
The Hawks have a challenging schedule. Twelve games against preseason AP Top 25...
Given how short-handed Iowa was last season, I don't think we really saw this team at its peak. Most people talking this team up as a Final Four contender are looking at the potential: last year they only had 12 scholarship players (and one of those was former walk-on Riley Till). Bohannon...
Joe Toussaint, Patrick, Nunge, Keegan, Kris, Perkins, Ulis, Ogundele and Sandfort all on that team, if nobody transfers. Plus four freshmen TBD. Is that a tournament team?
EDIT: Forgot CJ will be a senior. h/t skydog0784
If it's the same as what they've done for spring and fall sports, senior players who take advantage of this will not count toward scholarship limits for 2021-22. Here's what they had to say about fall sports:
The financial aid of fall sport senior student-athletes who take advantage of the...
It's a shame they didn't get this done in April so that last year's seniors, who were robbed of their last chance to play in the NCAAs, could get an extra year.
