You’re Beth Goetz. What do you tell Fran in post-season review?

Beth: Fran, what can I do as athletic director to support the men’s program and help push it to another level? Fran: Find a way to get us more NIL funding and help fix the atmosphere in Carver. Beth: Will do, those are things that a good athletic director should work on so I will get after it!

OT (KINDA) Who you got with ISU vs Illinois?

Teams I despise the most in this order: 1) ISU 2) Wisconsin 3) Illinois 4) Nebraska So….since they both can’t lose I will have to pull for the B10….and yet if I was betting I would guess ISU because of the defense they play.

    Utah has two 7 footers

I have no idea if he will be back or not…..your assumption is probably correct. One scenario where he transfers is he wants to finish his degree at Iowa (redshirt year) and then go play at a lower level for his last year? Either way I would think that either he or Evan Braun could at least play...

    Utah has two 7 footers

100%……he definitely showed a snap shot of what he is capable of in that game. On one play he just out ran Dickerson down the court and scored at a crucial point in a hotly contested game….made other plays as well! Now, does he return next year? If so, can he perform consistently at a high enough...

Stop doing senior day before the game!!

    Agreed….do it after the game.

So, who will land TJ Power? He Visited IOWA a 2nd Time (Unofficially) in June

Last time Iowa went to the Final Four they finished 3rd in the B10…..

So, who will land TJ Power? He Visited IOWA a 2nd Time (Unofficially) in June

The plan would most likely be to go to the portal…..what else do you do? Maybe there’s a HS recruit available but chances are they wouldn’t be a player you would want to depend on as a key player…..hopefully provide depth.

Why was Tom Davis forced out?

That’s true….. have no idea who Butler’s AD was then..but they might have been really happy to move Lick along and thankful that Iowa or anyone else might want him? Who in the Butler organization was going to tell Iowa, “This guy is not good, our lead assistant coach is the one responsible for...

Why was Tom Davis forced out?

It is possible that a new coach could take us to a higher level, but citing Oxwhatever at ISU has to be preceded by Prohm(sp?)……think about that. That guy was seen as a very good hire, talented young coach, on the rise, until he wasn’t. Their program TANKED under him. Alford was the hot young...

Is there anyone who thinks Caitlin is looking ahead?

No…..CC has not only demonstrated incredible basketball skills over and over again in the most pressure packed situations…BUT she’s shown just as much, if not more so, that she has her shit together mentally. She’s on another planet compared to how fans approach competition and how she does.

Why was Tom Davis forced out?

I thought Collisin was from Iowa Falls.

March 14 Joe Lunardi / ESPN Bracketology: IOWA is on the Bubble (7th Team OUT). #59 NET Ranking (8th Best in B1G) on March 14

I agree with what you’re saying…….But sweet Jesus how good would it be to beat Illinois and knock them out of a co-championship?!?!

    Chris Tadjo new recruiting ranking

I’m GUESSING that Braun could grab the backup post position. He’s already said he’s back next year and I think he’s taken this year to adjust and learn…..in his recent interview Bobby Hansen commented on Braun’s jumping ability and physical play in practice. Consequently I’m guessing he’s got...

    2024-25 Men’s Basketball

I have to add this……can Brauns develop into an adequate backup in the post for next year? By that I mean someone that can play post defense, rebound, score close to the basket? Doesn’t have to be as good as Q Wahab from PSU but be that inside physical presence….able to make free throws and set...

Never thought IU, Mich, OSU, and the Terps could be the 4 worst seeds in the men's tourney

MSU isn’t as bad as those teams…..BUT when you look at the current standings they are well below their normal position at this point in the season.

    2024-25 Men’s Basketball

I think there’s real reason for optimism for next year. If Every/most of the players on the roster take a good developmental step forward this can be a VERY good team. Obviously having Tony back and what happens with Dasonte will be significant for this roster and a need for guard depth. I...

    Reminiscing

Lutes’ style of play, the way he coached (my opinion only) was to do everything at a high level….every aspect of the game. Defense, offense, rebounding, limiting turnovers…fast break when it was available, pressure when it would best work…..and taking advantage of the talent he had on his team...

    Excitement levels…

I’m at a 9……lots of good comments in this thread and I share much of the sentiment related by others….so, just a couple things: Agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment about when football and basketball overlap!!!! That’s like heaven! I love watching or looking at the development of individual...

Purdue has to be #1. What has Ohio State done to rate in the top half of the B10? I am guessing that the Hawks finish 7th at the lowest….

COMMIT: Iowa Lands 2024 Prospect Chris Tadjo

I get what you are saying….thanks for the clarification. I find this approach to recruiting very intriguing. I often think that with a team of athletic players we might be even better in the open court, a better rebounding team…. And better defensively. In looking at our current and future...
