1:00 Iowa at Michigan. Lines as of 11:30 AM Saturday

Saw that Mich is now the betting favorite to win BIG...apparently Mays was a good hire...wish the last guy was still there.
The difference in coaching is noticeable.
Their big guys Wolf and Goldin are impressive together.
Go Hawks.

Those big guys are going to present a huge challenge to our lone big, Owen Freeman.
Even if perimeter game is on, which I hope it is, we do not have enough inside game. Freeman needs some help.

Not having Traore at the top of the press will hurt in this game the most I think, as I was hoping our press might negate the size advantage they have. So far our guards have been pretty good at rebounding ,long rebounds not so much our bigs under the boards and it just gets tougher today

Maybe Riley gets his chance today.
If not today,when?
Time for him to earn minutes.
If Fran does not trust him today, that will be illuminating.
Didn't you know, Even Brauns is Fran's new favorite player off the bench this year, can't wait to see him on the floor getting stuffed at the rim by Michigan's two 7 footers. Provides the perfect blend of power and grace......NOT!

Not overly optimistic Iowa will compete to the end. Michigan is well coached and talented.

Don't we actually have 4 bigs? Owen, Ladji, Mulvey and Brauns...
If this is not the game to give Mulvey a shot then I don't personally know which game is. We are really outmatched inside and Freeman is still recoviering from some health issued (weight and sickness)

I don't really consider Ladji and Brauns to be Big 10 bigs. They are really 6'8" and 6'9" power forwards. Braun's rebounding rate is akin to the average guard and neither has any offensive post skills. They both get devoured inside by taller more athletic players.

Brauns was a center at Belmont and he's a center for us, like it or not. Ladji is a center, just nobody wants to admit it yet

And it turns out it absolutely was the game to give Mulvey a shot. He was much of the reason this game wasn't a 30 point rout in the first half.

You can call them whatever you want. Ladji is barely a 4 and neither one would be a 5 anywhere else in the B1G.
