I brought it up earlier this week but Canzeri is 36 yards shy of this milestone. Took a quick look back at the record books and only 13 other Hawks have reached this mark. Only 17 times in program history. Was expecting a little longer of a list.

Ladell Betts I'm assuming is the 3rd for multiple 1000 yd seasons.

Ding Ding Ding. Betts is the 3rd and did it both years averaging under 5 yards a carry.

1998-2001 (aka my Freshman-first Senior year...thank god I took an extra semester to graduate) were not the greatest of times to be a Hawkeye. 3-8, 1-10, 3-9, 7-5. Betts never played on a team that beat Iowa State.

Pretty sure he was 3rd in the nation in rushing his Senior year. Had to have been his only season since he played behind Sed Shaw the rest of his career.

Great job by Jordan, especially considering he missed 2 games and shared significant carries with Daniels & Wadley. Those 3 combined have rushed for 2,005 yards this year if my math is correct.

Just looked at Hawkeye media guide. Ed Podolak just missed 1000 yard season in 1968.
If Canzeri gets to 100 yards Saturday, he would have the 13th best season in Iowa history. Given nearly 3 games he missed, he would be knocking on the door of top 5 single season. Not sure it that means we haven't had many really great RB or injuries kept us from seeing a pretty good RB.

Here is interesting stat that I would never have guessed: Jake Rudock had positive rushing yardage in both of the last two season (218 and 176 yards). The 218 is half of what Brad Banks had in his magical season. Who would have guessed this?
