Reading this article and/or hearing discussions on the Class of 2022, it is hard not to be excited for 2022 edition and future of Iowa Football under Kirk Ferentz.

The Oklahoma native is listed at 6’-5” and 220 pounds. While he doesn’t classify as a “dual-threat” quarterback, he can get out of the pocket and make plays happen with his feet. May can reportedly run a sub 4.7 40-yard dash, which is impressive for a tall quarterback. His ability to move can be pivotal for Brian Ferentz’s offense. The other thing May has is confidence. He calls himself the number one quarterback in Oklahoma in his Twitter bio. A confident quarterback is critical to success, and May brings that to Iowa City. Although his lone Power Five offer came from Iowa, he caught the eyes of many in his senior year. It led to him getting the bump to a four-star grade. May will begin his career at the University of Iowa next season.

Despite the three disappointing losses to Purdue, Wisconsin and to Michigan the Big Ten title game, I am excited the direction the Hawkeye program is trending.

The game with Kentucky is an opportunity for the 2021 team to get a rare 11th win at Iowa.
