19-20 B1G Power Ranking

"Kriener on the wing" (sigh)

Overall, the article is right that Wieskamp will be the catalyst for next year. Considering his pedigree, most Iowa fans should feel great about that.

OSU and Wisconsin are undervalued.

Illinois at 7? Lot of those kids need to grow up a bunch over the next 6 months

They should have a great backcourt with Frazier and Ayo plus Giorgi has the makings of a very good power foward. Getting Kofi Cockburn will provide them with the legitimate center they missed this year. They could be s real sleeper team.

Kofi rumored to be out until 2nd semester for the Illini with a case of the herpes

You think OSU will finish higher than 4th?

I think Purdue and Michigan are likely rated too high. Wisconsin is in trouble, imo.

Meh...

I don’t think it’s a stretch at all. Illinois finished 2 games out of seventh place this year with a team full of freshman, and they return everyone who matters and add a top 40 big, and may land TJ Holyfield as a transfer. If they are worse next year, they need to fire underwood.

I hope Wisconsin is in trouble but it kind of looks like a typical Wisconsin team...I wanna see them get stomped.

I honestly don’t see one person on that team that will worry any coach in the league. Who am I missing?

When I say they’re in trouble, I don’t just mean next year. They’re getting out recruited by Northwestern and Rutgers.

I think they're the clear number two behind Sparty. They've got everything you want except maybe high level shooting. I think OSU will shoot better with more playmakers to get better shots.

When I say Wisc is undervalued, I don't mean they'll be top 4. They'll be in the bubble range, around 6-8, which is still much better than 11. Gard has yet to develop one of his recruits into an all-B1G player. Davison stagnated, Trice got worse over the year, and Reuvers was inconsistent. Gard's got to show he can take his guys to the next level if they want to stay in the top 4.

If Poole leaves, UM might not be top 3.

Illannoy is a very dangerous team that has all of the pieces, assuming none of freshmen this year are leaving.

I thought Purdue would drop a lot this year, but their freshman class was MUCH better than most thought. I still think that they will be in the middle of the pack.

Iowa finishing higher than 6 depends on Nunge's development and whether JoeT is good enough to contribute big minutes. If both are among Iowa's top 7 players, Iowa could be a top 4 B1G team. If neither contributes much, Iowa won't finish higher than the middle.

The clearest prediction is that Nebraska will be the worst power 5 conference team in the country, assuming Roby leaves.

Ruevers is going to take a big step next year.

Purdue loses Carson Edwards, I don't know how they can replace him. Wisconsin looks pretty exposed without Happ as well. Those are two tough guys to replace.

Maybe not, and I hope you’re right but, Trice is quick and a very capable shooter. Davidson is the player I love to hate because he’s not just an antagonist but because he’s productive. Pritzle is a very good shooter and does everything else well enough. Ruevers started to show what he can do....if he takes another step forward he will be very good. They have other guys on the bench that are very capable.....

So, not saying they are going to contend for the championship but they could be in the same range as this year.....maybe?

His Iowa at 6th place made no mention of Nunge, Pemsl, or Frederick being added to this list. I think that is a significant amount of talent that he missed or ignored. I would venture to say Nunge will be a bigger contributor that Mac II.

Wisconsin is gonna fall hard.

OSU could be a dangerous team though.

Both football & basketball should knock Wisconsin from their dream & back to reality. I will enjoy.
