Dunk City over FSU, Seminoles are shaky on the road/neutral
Wichita St. over Dayton, not sure this is too big of an "upset" as WSU is heavily underseeded
Middle Tenn over Rodents
Rhode Island over Creighton, Jays have struggled w/out Watson, RI is hot and has good guards
ETSU over Florida, I might go with this one as well, Gators lost to Vandy what? 3 times? They have injuries as well

Traditionally, these happen in the 5/12 line, but not this year, although Nevada may give ISU trouble deep into 2nd half!

I got 3 upsets in the 1st round:

E-Tennesse St over Florida
FGCU over FSU
Rhode Island over Creighton

Everything else is to seed.

The 2nd round is where its either going to make or break my bracket.

I have Rhode Island over Oregon, Wisky over Villanova, and MSU over KU

Creighton lost Maurice Watson
Xavier lost Edmond Sumner
Oregon lost Chris Boucher
Florida lost John Egbunu
Kansas (early in the season) lost Udoka Azubuike
Minnesota lost Akeem Springs
Michigan State lost Eron Harris
Virginia Tech lost Chris Clarke
Maryland lost Michael Cekovsky
Princeton lost Henry Caruso

Am I missing any other significant players? Please add on if you notice any omissions.

Don't sell Nevada short. I'm a Mountain West guy and this could have easily been my CSU Rams and Larry Eustachy against ISU. Problem for Nevada is that they are not a big team.

Whoa. Didn't know that Minnesota lost Akeem Springs. That's huge for them, as he's one of their only sources of instant offense. In fact, might have to choose the upset now. Thanks.

Yeah Creighton and Xavier both limped into the tournament, and Rhode Island just handled a very solid VCU team.

Great list thanks.

Thanks for the info on Creighton. I had no idea Watson was out. I know Oregon lost a player too.
Watson tore an ACL in January and 3 weeks later was arrested on allegations of sexual assault. Posted 75 large for bail and is awaiting trial. Creighton is easily a 1/2/3 seed with him healthy, in fact I'd put them better than when Doug McBuckets was there, they have an NBA ready center as a RS FR (Patton) and some other decent players but Watson is the straw that stirred that drink.

Creighton was VERY good. Now, not so much.

Didn't Iowa recruit the RI PG pretty hard, E.C. Matthews? Kid would look good in black and gold.

Pretty sure they did.

I like -
Rhode Island - Fading Creighton. I like RI's guards.
NC Wilmington - Tough going against Virginia.
E Tenn St.- They create turnovers.
On the fence with New Mexico St - Baylor doesn't play well in the tourney. The got smoked on the boards last year against Yale and they were one of the better rebounding teams in America. New Mexico St has bigs and if they crash the glass and stop Baylor from getting offensive rebounds, they could pull it off.
Middle Tenn St. - Fading the Gophers
K State or WF over Cincy. If my memory serves me right, I believe winner of the play in game has won in the round of 64 every year.

I am digging the N Kentucky vs Kentucky match up. Don't think they'll upset them but knowing how UK plays it may stay a game into the late minutes. Good story.

We could only take 1 in 2013 and got Jok, so they backed off Matthews. I like Matthews' all-around game better (he's better at creating his own shot/ball handling/defense), but not the shooter or rebounder that Jok is. We got a great Hawkeye in Pete, who was also pivotal in locking down the state.

SMU over Baylor in round 2
Xavier over Maryland
Middle Tennessee over Minnesota and Butler

Anyone have thoughts on the Florida and Virginia games, I'm looking at those and struggling

Iona over Oregon
Wake Forest over Cincinnati
VCU over St. Mary's
Marquette over S. Carolina

Round 2
Virginia over Florida
SMU over Baylor
NW over Gonzaga (purely feel good story based not logic based picked)
Notre Dame over WVU
Maryland over FSU
Wichita State over Kentucky
Michigan over Louisville
Iona over Creighton

Wilmington is one of the most efficient offenses in the country according to kenpom. That's one of the key stats to look for in mid majors pulling upsets.

MTSU over Minney
Rhode Island over Creighton
ETSU over Florida
Xavier over Maryland

Same regarding FL and VA. I am picking VA only because of their defense. But I ended up picking East Tennessee State over FL.

I hope you didn't bet to much on that Wake Forest over Cincinnati game as they are already gone.

Same for both. Also does anyone UVA over Nova? They played earlier in the season and Nova won on a buzzer beater

Lots of upsets in the first 2 rounds:

RI over Creighton
VCU over St Mary's
MSU over Miami
Hall over the Pigs
MTS over Little Dick's rodents
WS over Dayton

UVA over Gators
SMU over Baylor
UM over Big Pitino's birds
ND over WV
MTS over Butler
WS over UK

I usually pick much more chalk, but this year has more parity than most. I also dislike the Pitino boys and Coach Cal

Some of those I would not call upsets.
