Think that will still be the case for Iowa if they beat PSU. Lose to PSU we have to win BTT.

The greatest issue is our next loss will be #14. Not many teams get in with 14 losses. Syracuse just did but they have a national brand name which we do not.

So beating PSU but losing in the BTT first round makes us 18-14. I do not think that gets us in. Have to win at least 1 maybe 2 in the BTT on top of beating PSU.

19-14 Iowa will be one of the last 4 in.

18-14 NIT (2-3 seed)

17-15 NIT (5+seed to possibly out)

At least we're almost guaranteed post season play with a win on Sunday!

PSU is an absolute must. All discussion starts there. Even the NIT might be off the table if that's a loss.

I think Iowa needs to get to Saturday of the B1G tourney to be dancing. 20-14 and we will still be very nervous on Sunday.

So, to cure the anxiety, just win the whole fricking thing.

I'm semi confident we will be in the middle of some March situation. Don't sweat Selection Sunday. At least the NCAA brand. someone will take us..

When was that? I've seen 17-14 teams get in and they didn't win their conf. tournament.
15-20 years ago 20 wins was considered the magic number for major conference teams. Yes there were exceptions. But usually you were getting in with 20.

Wasn't there a year(maybe in the 90's) that Iowa was 20+ overall and 9-9 in conference and had beat Indiana twice and the Hawks were left out and Indiana got in?

Yes. 1998. Both teams went 9-7 in conference play. Iowa beat Indiana twice. Indiana got the bid. You know computer rankings mean more than what's decided on court. Sarcasm.

That was complete BS. It just reaked of hey let's put Indiana in because they are Indiana.
