200, 000 more covid deaths by the end of the year.

Anybody else catch this bullshit from Biden last night? We have had "200k" in 9* months and this dipshit thinks we are going to have another 200k in the next 12* weeks. The best part was the mod herself said "we have had 16k since the last debate" ,which was roughly 3 weeks ago, and dipshit went with 200k before new years. Panic, pandemonium, all they know is how to sell fear.

*i originally under represented the length of time covid has been here as well as how many weeks were left.

You're a Trump supporter and you're concerned about Joe's use of hyperbole?

Makes sense.

Trump is just so ... dumb.

He desperately wants a second term. Well, the majority of Americans are very concerned about COVID and climate change - just two examples. All he had to do was take the virus seriously - ask everyone to wear a mask and avoid crowds. Stop calling scientists idiots. That's it. He didn't have to shut the country down!

As for climate change, again - just take it seriously! Stop making fun of windmills, show genuine concern for what's happening to the planet. Stay in the Paris Accord (what did he gain by that anyway?). He really didn't need to do anything else.

Those two things - he probably gets a second term easily.

See post above.

With not of.

Are you willing to admit that Biden was far closer to being right than you were?

How do you feel about the CDC clarifying that 6% of reported covid deaths are "of" and 94% are "with"?

It's a distinction without a difference to me. Unless you're going to say all of that 94% would have died regardless by this point, Covid likely still had some impact on their ability to fight off the illness that actually killed them.

You're very clearly moving the goalposts on this. Biden made that statement during a debate, with limited time and ability to provide nuance. 3 1/2 months ago, projections indicated that another 200k people would die due to Covid by now. That projection was very close to accurate.

But that's okay, you get to stand by your assertion that Biden was fear-mongering. God knows Trump never did that...

No; you haven't.
The CDC's comments are NOT consistent with your position on this.

Its directly what they stated dipshit. Trump tried saying only 6% were real which was false and then they came back and clarified with this.

"For the week referenced in the claim, the CDC explained that the chart “shows the types of health conditions and contributing causes mentioned in conjunction with deaths involving coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned.”"

And it does NOT mean what you THINK it means.
It LITERALLY means 6% died WITHOUT a SINGLE co-morbidity.

You die of renal cancer when your kidneys fail completely, and the cause is listed as those complications WITH cancer as the overlying factor.

SAME.WITH.COVID

You die of complications FROM Covid, and IT IS ON THE DEATH CERTIFICATE.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention hasn’t drastically reduced the number of deaths attributable to COVID-19, but posts making that bogus claim have been circulating widely — with the help of President Donald Trump, who retweeted one such claim on Aug. 30.

Twitter has since removed the original tweet, which came from an account dedicated to the pro-Trump conspiracy theory QAnon. But the claim is still readily available on all the major social media platforms. In fact, the same QAnon account that posted the now-deleted tweet includes a screenshot version featuring the president’s retweet.

The post Trump highlighted said: “This week the CDC quietly updated the Covid number to admit that only 6% of all the 153,504 deaths recorded actually died from Covid. That’s 9,210 deaths. The other 94% had 2 to 3 other serious illnesses and the overwhelming majority were of very advanced age.”

But that’s not what the CDC information says.

In weekly updates provided on the CDC’s website, the agency includes information on additional conditions present in patients who died with COVID-19. These other illnesses or conditions found to be present in a patient are called comorbidities. The agency also includes a chart detailing the number of patients with each additional condition.

For the week referenced in the claim, the CDC explained that the chart “shows the types of health conditions and contributing causes mentioned in conjunction with deaths involving coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned.”

That means that 6% of those who died with COVID-19 through Aug. 15 didn’t have any other reported conditions.

It does not mean that the CDC has “quietly updated” the number of deaths associated with COVID-19 to a fraction of what had been reported. It’s also not new information; the agency has been providing the same information since May.

Good job, you are figuring out the definition of the word "with". Good job Joe.

Again, WRONG. The link you posted indicated they died OF Covid.

>90% had some co-morbidity.
Like diabetes, which is not lethal.
Or hypertension, which is not lethal.
Or asthma, which is not lethal.

Etc. Etc. Etc.

They ALL died OF Covid. That is what YOUR link states.
