BANWART: "It has been my dream ever since I was little to play for the Hawkeyes and play at Kinnick. I'll have a chance to follow that."
Q: When they offered at camp, did you know it was a matter of time before you decided?
BANWART: "Yeah, I had a feeling that I would."
Q: How does it feel to live your dream?
BANWART: "It is awesome, just awesome."
Q: Where do they see you ending up position wise
BANWART: "They said that Coach Reese Morgan and Coach Brian Ferentz will have a brawl for where I end up. I'm guessing I'll move to offense and play guard."
Q: Do you have a preference position wise?
BANWART: "Not really. I just want to play football."
Q: What was the reaction from the Iowa coaches?
BANWART: "They said it was awesome. They can't wait for me to come down and stuff."
Q: How much did the coaches factors into your decision?
BANWART: "A lot. Those coaches are awesome."
Q: What other schools were you considering as well?
BANWART: "Iowa State maybe."
Q: Are you going back down to any Iowa camps?
BANWART: "I don’t think I am. I don’t know for sure though."
Q: Before your junior year you changed schools from West Bend-Mallard to Algona and also went from 8-Man football to 11-Man football. How much did that help you overall?
BANWART: "When I moved from 8-Man to 3A, I noticed a big difference. The coaches started looking at me more."
Q: What was the toughest part of recruiting?
BANWART: "It was just waiting I guess for offers."
Q: How did you come to your final decision?
BANWART: "My mom was actually gone when I was deciding it. I was sitting by myself and called her. She said to follow your dream. I talked to my dad and all he said was follow your dream. Now I just got to work harder."
Q: How much does the commitment motivate you?
BANWART: "A lot. It will push me further to get on the field and not just stand on the sidelines."
