2016 big man Barret Benson tweeted tonight that he has committed to Northwestern. Cats are putting together a nice class in 2016 with Benson and a commit from Rapolas Ivanauskas, who along with Benson, had an offer from Iowa.
Benson was offered by Iowa earlier this year, but it never really seemed to gain much traction in terms of a visit. Seemed focused on high academic schools from what he said in his interviews. He made an official visit to Northwestern last weekend and decided tonight to end his recruitment before the start of the first of three live evaluation periods on Wednesday.
