Wasn't sure if this was posted anywhere.

Wrestling Fans -- make your television plans early so you don't miss a semi-final or final match of the 2017 Iowa High School State Wrestling Tournament.

DIRECTV - Channel 665
Dish SatelliteTV - Channel 429

I love how DTV channel 665 is picking up Iowa HS sports championships. Its HD, so dont have to watch in standard def on the other channels

Same situation as football and basketball for the next 3 years. If you get CSN Chicago, you're golden. If not, you're hosed. No OTA broadcasts.

The State needs to punch themselves squarely in their own private parts for deciding on this option regardless of if this was what it had come to and it was their only option.

They should wear brass knuckles when they do it too.

They sold all the rights to Krogman years ago. This year, Krogman turned around and cut a deal with Comcast, who immediately tried to leverage that new content against small-town cable providers in the western half of the state. Several stories of municipal cable systems having to choose between a multi-year deal to carry Comcast (at an exorbitant rate, of course) or no deal and therefore no way for locals to watch their teams play in the Dome.

Interesting that for a measly $10 one can now watch all matches of the individual tournament. Pretty cool.

The TV thing is garbage. I feel for people in the west who don't get CSN Chicago. Those who have Direct and Dish will be ok with the sports pack but those who aren't might be SOL. One saving grace could be if they get the NBC Sports network. They might be able to stream semis and finals. Chip is normally all over this stuff so he may know for sure.

The dual tournament and the first two rounds of the individual tournament will be available via TrackWrestling (TrackCast) for $9.95. Semis and finals will only be available to those who have CSN.

Having NBCSN alone doesn't mean anything. You have to have CSN Chicago. If you have CSN, you can watch through the NBC Sports app. It's great in the eastern half of the state, because Mediacom offers CSN as its regional sports channel (b/c of the Cubs, mostly). In central Iowa, Mediacom's RSN is FS Midwest (due to Big 12 games).

There you go. I knew you would be all over it.

So, the premium direct tv sports package we just updated to here in OR (for less money) will have Iowa highschool wrestling?

Just to be clear, if I call DirecTV and ask for the premium sports package, I'm going to get a discount from what I'm currently paying?

LOL Yep. Tell Tierra that el dub sent ya…

Looks like gobbles and I both got the $27 off for 6 months deal that can be cancelled at any time you want to stop saving money.;)

(Was told that would mean a total, pro-rated charge of a couple of bucks to just watch this event.)

I'm going to have to look, but I've got some old school Fox Sports Package that is like $15 / month. Since I get the FSC for MLB games both Cardinals and Brewers (for my parents) as well as helpful football / basketball games, there has never been a time / desire to cancel.
