Caught up with Mark Jones, who is the father of Class of 2018 wide receiver Micah Jones from Illinois. Still just a freshman in high school, Micah is already 6-foot-4 and 180 pounds. He's had interest from Iowa for a while now and was in Iowa City for the Hawkeyes' game against Iowa State last fall.
Here is what Mark Jones had to say about their visit to Iowa spring practice on Saturday.
"Micah had a great time at last Saturday's Iowa spring practice as well as talking with all of the coaches in the lounge after practice."
"From a parent perspective, I like the Iowa football family atmosphere. Micah had really good conversation with Coaches Brian Ferentz, Kennedy and Wallace. They are high on Micah even though he is 2018 athlete and they respect the effort we are making to develop the relationship."
Up next for Micah will be spring game visits to Illinois and Northwestern. They were hoping to make it to Iowa's spring game on April 25, but after a 7-on-7 conflict came up, they moved the visit up to this past weekend instead.
This summer, he plans to attend camps at Iowa, Illinois, Northwestern, Purdue, Arizona and Arizona State.
