2019 Recruit Nick DeJong ... anyone see this guy play? Could he be an OT/OL in college?

I know he is from Pella and I have only garnered small bits of Info on Nick. I heard he plays with a mean streak and is somewhat athletic. Maybe not elite athletic for college DE, but at 6'6" he may be able to play on the OL at Iowa. Sometime growing a 3 star instate kid seems smarter than trying for some maxed out 4 star out of state multi-offered kid that has some bad weight or conditioning habits.

Has anyone seen him play or have other insider info?

Another big, strong kid from Pella. To play oline at Iowa I'd imagine he'd have to prove himself at camp. We have two talented ones on board already and sit well with one from Indy. Opportunities might be small.

He went up against the kid from Norwalk when they played (Nick played DE and TE). I wouldn't say either guy got dominated. Nick had some really nice plays and the Norwalk kid stayed in good position. I don't know enough about him if he has the frame to pack in the extra weight to play DT or Oline.

Thanks millhawk. The one from Indy (I believe you are referring to Justin Britt) is 6'4" 300 and looks more like a guard than tackle. Also, a lot of time the heights of 6'6" HS guys are exaggerated about at least an inch. most times. Iowa high schools rarely produce OT talent, and when they do they are mostly right tackles - strong leg drive but not fleet footed. DeJong interested me in that he plays DE/TE at Pella and has not ballooned up to 275+ so he could put on good weight over a couple of seasons and not lose much speed/quickness as he improves his muscles and frame. A project that Doyle enjoys.

Tyler Endres looks more like a tackle than Ezra Miller. Ezra is already over 300 and look like a mauler, the type of guy who could play tackle in a pinch but works better in close environments on engagement. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Blair said in a post awhile back that the coaches peg Endres as an interior guy and Miller a tackle. So I'm sure Iowa would want another OT in this class. He reminds me the Plumb kid, a rangy kid that is tall, athletic but obviously needs bulk. It's so early there will probably be more guys on the coaches radar. He's definitely a good looking prospect. Do you know, has he taken any unofficials to Iowa yet?

Sorry, I got those two guys (Endres and Miller) reversed. I think I could see some of the reasons why from videos. I am DEFINITELY no expert. Thanks for putting up with my mistake.
