Any shot at Lebron James, Jr?

He's only a 4 star ;)

What's interesting is that back in 2016 there were reports from 2 ESPN reporters that 11-year-old LeBron James Jr. received Duke and Kentucky scholarship offers.

A lot will happen in the next 2 years. Will he continue to develop and become an elite 5 star prospect?

And not sure how much this is affecting how much time college coaches are putting into his recruitment, but he has options 2 years from now, other than college.

1) Adam Silver has confirmed that the NBA has presented a proposal to the National Basketball Players Association that would allow high school players into the 2022 draft.

2) The G League, if he is not eligible for the 2023 NBA Draft. Here he could make really good money as a highly ranked 5 star. Jalen Green, for example, was the highest ranked player in the 2020 high school class according to ESPN. He became the first player to join the NBA G League Ignite, earning $500,000.

The NBA G League Ignite team is a first-of-its-kind team dedicated to top young prospects, providing them mentorship, life skills training and development in preparation for the NBA Draft.

From what I have seen, it is the consensus 5 star recruits who are ending up on the Ignite G League Team. Other examples:

* Sterling “Scoot” Henderson
, the top point guard in the class of 2022, signed with NBA G League Ignite. Henderson is a consensus 5-star recruit and is ranked by ESPN as the No. 7 overall prospect in the class of 2022.

* Henderson joins 2021 top-10 high school prospect Michael Foster Jr. (ESPN No. 7) on Ignite’s newest roster.

Watch this Video from 2016 discussing 11 year old Lebron James Jr Offers:

Wish they would go ahead and offer. I would think the Hawks would have a real chance landing him, assuming he is as talented as his brother.

First live evaluation period in a long time for these kids, should be an active weekend for recruiting updates and possible new offers.

How many scholarships are available for his class?

See the thread title or the original post. I keep both updated based on who commits, who transfers in and out, etc.

And don't forget about our preferred walk on.

Iowa offered Reed Sheppard on Jan 14, 2021.

Iowa was his FIRST high major offer.

Not sure we pry him out of the state of Kentucky, however. Louisville and Arizona State are the latest to offer. And, as you can see, Michigan and others are lurking.

Iowa offered Owen Freeman on June 1, 2021.

It was reported that an Iowa coach was watching him yesterday (Friday June 18, first live evaluation day) in Normal..

The offers are really starting to roll in. It's weird seeing Dean Oliver recruiting him for Wisconsin.

These highlights are from the 2023 NY2LA Lonestar Tournament (posted on youtube on May 24, 2021).

Iowa offered Gus Yalden on July 8, 2020.

He unofficially visited Iowa on Sat June 12, 2021.

He is playing at Kearney (NE) High School this summer. He has family who live there. See the June 20th video below (he's in purple).

NOTE that he was playing in Cedar Rapids 2 weekends ago (on June 14; see FIRST 2 videos below).

You will see why they call him BABY JOKIC.

Note, too, that he is coming off an injury & trying to get back into shape.

Iowa offered Taison Chatman on Aug 13, 2020. He's hearing from a lot of schools, as you can see in the tweet below.

Fran and Kirk were in Minnesota this past weekend watching him.

Iowa offered Taylor Bowen on April 2, 2020.

Iowa was his FIRST high major offer.

Interesting 4 player connection:

Dasonte Bowen (2022 PG Commit), Reed Bailey (2022 PF, who Iowa offered) and Taylor Bowen all attend the same High School (Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH) and play on the same AAU team (Expressions Elite). Alex Karaban (2022 SF who Iowa offered) also plays on the Expressions Elite AAU team.

There was a long list of schools to reach out to him on the first day they could do so (June 15).

This video is from May. Dasonte Bowen leads the break. Taylor Bowen with the dunk. Could we see the same connection in Iowa City?

We've had good luck with Bowens in the past, so why not try for a 2fer?🤩

Iowa offered Xavier Booker on June 15, 2021.

The offers are really starting to roll in.

Indiana, by the way, has also joined the party.

Taylor is opening a lot of eyes, as seen in this story.

* 2023 Shooting Guard Cam Christie, who Iowa offered on June 15, 2021.

* 2022 Shooting Guard Jaden Schutt, who Iowa offered on June 17, 2020.

As you can see, a coach from Michigan State is there watching as well.

As Fran watches....

Taylor Bowen & Dasonte Bowen, AAU (and high school) teammates,
are standing out this weekend.

Iowa offered Omaha Biliew on May 21, 2019.

The Hawkeyes were the first to offer Omaha.

Omaha Unofficially Visited Iowa on June 7, 2021.

If I were to guess, I would say Omaha chooses one of these 3 options in 2023:

1) Enters NBA Draft. High school seniors could be eligible for the 2022 NBA Draft; the NBA Players Association just has to sign off on the current proposal.

2) Plays in the G League for 1 year and earns around $500,000

3) Plays at Kentucky for his 1 and done year.

This is a FREE story. Note that Omaha is quoted saying "I mean, it’s Kentucky you know. They just produce NBA players."

I'm sure it is posted somewhere but I have yet to see it on the board but Omaha Billiew transferred to IMG recently as updated on his Rivals profile. https://www.desmoinesregister.com/s...nrise-montverde-prolific-brewster/4752455001/
