Can't wait till all the rich kids get their private school paid for by the taxpayers. That will definitely make this state a better place to live!

No surprise but you have this exactly wrong. The superior education that one can’t get in a private school will now be available to all, not just the rich.

It's not superior in the aggregate, especially when you consider they don't have to accept any kid like public schools do. Add to that less than half of Iowa's counties have private schools. So our public money will go to 2% of the kids in our state, most of whom already attend private schools. Awesome!

Why? Because Iowa is as white as a blizzard in January and I mentioned it?
Yes. Who gives a crap which state has more black residents? Drawing a comparison between the two based on racial composition? That’s the first thing that came to your head when you saw this post about best places to raise a family? Yep. Definitely racist.

"The ideal city is one that’s affordable to live in during this time of high inflation but also offers quality schools, healthcare and entertainment."

Our schools suck and outside of liberal metros there is zero entertainment. Basically all we have is cheap housing.

And to all the board miscreants that like to call Iowa "Mississippi North", read it and weep.

The problem with lists like this is that it assumes a homogeneous distribution of everything through the state, which doesn't exist.

Like for Virginia - if you're a family in Northern Virginia you have access to culture, entertainment, recreation, and a level of education that doesn't exist in other parts of the state. If you're a family in most of Southern or Western Virginia, you're going to have a bad time.

Why would anyone call Iowa the Mississippi of the North? Mississippi has black people.
Mostly the poorly educated rural population and lots of racists or people who have no problem whatsoever with racism. But at least MS has one dem member of congress. Iowa is actually redder.

You're saying this about Iowa? Can you provide a link with data that supports your statement?

New York and NJ in the top 5... Maybe they only went to rural areas, or they accidentally inverted the rankings.
