****2024-25 Chicago Bears Thread 📈****

Texans getting away with being a bunch of Trumps, er I mean little bitches, in this game.

And punching a guy with a helmet on. I will never not find that funny.

Should have been ejected and a Bears 1st down.

The announcers keep harping on and on and on about how that tackle that injured Mixon should have been called for the "hip drop tackle".

What the **** is the defender supposed to do, let him go to run for a touchdown because he shouldn't tackle him in a way that might possibly injure him??

bs

Not a good challenge. Not a good system where a guy clearly throws a punch and nothing can be done.

Guess I should pay more attention to these rules and rule changes, because when I heard about the "hip drop tackle" rule change, I thought it had something to do with grabbing the ball carrier and then dipping a hip a bit to sling the ball carrier over your own hip to slam him down, in a sort of wrestling or pro wrestling kind of 'takedown'.

Caleb Williams has that Cade McNamara disease.

Really seems to like those underthrown floaters.

Why did Chris Collingsworth just mumble about the Bears missing Keenan Allen tonight? Why? Is he a o-lineman now?

Bears QB Williams was badly bruised by the Houston Texans
in Game 2 of the season. He went to the ice tub after the game.
He was sacked 7 times and was blitzed 20 times He was
hit 11 times. The Bears need to keep him alive.

Bottom Line: Williams needs some protection or he will get killed.
Help the rookie with better blocking from the offensive line.

The Bears got over 200 yards of offense this week! 205 baby! Bear Down!!!!!!!!!

The line is absolutely awful. Nate Davis appears to be trying to get cut in order to take his guaranteed money and go get even fatter somewhere. The desperately needed a center, and got a 33/34 year old guy who was the 5th best FA on the market. Shelton is an emergency back up at best right now.
Poles and Cunningham are supposed to be o-line guys, and they did not put together a decent line for Williams. The only saving grace is they have played two excellent defenses to start the season, and this season was always a stepping stone to what should be years 2-4 of Williams' career when he's still team friendly money wise and a decent cast can be assembled around him.
Hopefully his body isn't wrecked by then.

Years 2 and 3 will be team friendly money wise. If CW turns out to be all that and a bag of chips then Year 4 might get a little spendy.

Starting to realize GMs and coaches who might have played a position in the past generally suck at evaluating and addressing those same positions. Don't know if it's ultra pickyness or arrogance but it just always seems the case. Elway and qbs comes to mind. That and they seem to think Chris Morgan is a oline guru and from I've seen his lines have been clueless on things as basic as picking up stunts and operating on silent counts.

37 drop backs. 36 pressures. Pretty sure that’s really bad. Oline better get their shit together because that’s terrible.

Houston just exposed the Bears. Eberflus and Waldren better implement some "blitz beater" plays for this weekend or Indy is going to do the same thing. A running game would certainly help as well.

Listened to some of the Monday Morning Quarterbacking going on today and am starting to panic about Williams. He's been Bryce Young bad stat-wise and Young just got benched for the ageless Red Rocket. Young's career in Carolina is all but over.

Yeah, the Bears o-line needs to be a lot better. Need to be able to run the ball and protect better, but Williams needs to make some plays to help his line out too.

Just got a bad feeling about this, that it was a lost opportunity to trade that pick and load up on talent and get a Brock Purdy type in the middle rounds of the draft. Should have pursued Baker Mayfield.

I'm no expert, but it seems to me like D Swift and the TEs could really he Calib on some quick outs.

Last night it seemed like the OC didn’t use them properly.

Also, you need to show some kind of down field threat early in the game.

Williams is bad but Richardson is worse!
Richardson was a combine only pick. He did almost nothing in college as a QB.

It was a horrible pick that early in the draft. He is the kind of guy that needed to be a backup for multiple years and maybe he could become something.
