2025 Cadillac XLR Convertible

But I'm a poor; what will it cost?

I really dig the exterior look, combined with the retro interior. A nice touch.

They still make the rotary engine? Wankle?

Mazda stopped using them in 2012.

So yes, sort of depending on definition..... :)

Mazda has been tinkering with the rotary in the background but didn't have a rotary in a car after 2012 in the US. FYI, there is an entire subculture that has been continuing the life of the rotary with aftermarket builds and supports. However, you have been able to get a Mazda 13B block and parts FROM MAZDA for the last decade. I have been moments away from buying an RX8 multiple times (most recent had the trailer on the truck and prepped to head out the next day when the seller backed out). But, the rotary has been sold in Europe for the last couple years in a crossover production vehicle.

And, last I read was that they are looking at producing a new rotary plant, and it may be used to direct drive or in a hybrid fashion to power electric drive motors. It's not in a production sports car so TBD on exact application. Patents have been submitted, but there is talk about 2026 RX7 / Iconic SP. Sorry to hijack your thread OP... :)

I also got wind of the Camaro coming back and was jazzed when I saw it at the Atlanta Car show back in 2005/06, but the actual release wasn't quiet as sexy as the prototype they were demoing. So actual implementation is always TBD.

Several years ago Cadillac tried their luck on a roadster that was just a corvette with a different body.

Is this the same thing again?

I would rather have the corvette.
