Probably some of that, but you also tend to see this when congressmen read the tea leaves and don't like what they see regarding their own prospects as well.

The only thing most of them have to fear is an attack from their right...that's the scary part. At least some of them are conceding the field to the MAGAts.
Yup, and what's crazy about that is that in at least some of those districts that actually then makes them vulnerable in the general - we saw that in '22 when voters often rejected the MAGA candidate. This likely cost them the AZ governorship, and possibly the AZ senate seat there for example.

MAGA is a death cult?

The WI rep, Gallagher, voted against the Myorkas impeachment. He was immediately ostracized & was going to field a primary challenger. Combine that w the maps hopefully being un-gerrymandered in WI, & I'm sure he feels a nice lobbyist job is more enticing than dealing w the crazies.

These are the ages of the 3 GOP Congress members who
are retiring.

Mike Gallager....40 yrs old, Cathy Rodgers...55 yrs old and
Mark Green...60 yrs old. It seems that the reasons they
took early retirement would include the following:

1. Lack of productivity on the part of the U.S. House in doing
their job for the American people.

2. Seeing the handwriting on the wall that the GOP will be a
minority in the U.S. House after the 2024 elections.

3. They are sick of the toxic influence of Donald Trump on
the GOP.

Wouldn't bet on it. The voters may put the same numb nuts quality in. It's why nothing changes. Individuals aren't blamed for the collective failure.

"All of them are known as serious conservatives."

never heard of them. can't be too serious. never heard of any of them.

Well then, that settles it, I guess.

House Committee Chairs are probably picked out of a hat!

Since they set the agenda for major legislation such as -in this case- Energy & Commerce, Homeland Security, and China policy, they can’t be that serious can they?

McMorris was the leader of the House Republican Caucus for 7 years and held regular national press conferences. She probably conducted several hundred major media interviews — never heard of her!! LOL

Please expand on this statement.
Do you think Ukraine can win this war against Russia?

A victory meaning no NATO boots on the ground or a direct attack on Moscow.
Would you agree a direct attack on Moscow results in Putin getting crazier than he all ready is?

no absolutely not for three reasons: number one it is already over and russia won. this is all a show and a farse to steal money from the usa tax payer and to get biden a commission. number two: ukraine and russia are on the same page, birds of a feather. communits and corrupt. number three: putin thinks he owns ukraine now because he does. this is all a joke and robbery of usa tax payor money.

NATO is a defensive military and security alliance. The only way a NATO member country attacks or forward deploys troops is if a member country is attacked first.

The whole point in assisting Ukraine now is to deter Russia from doing that.

Hell yes they can, Putin. My Russian apologist.

That's true and I agree but we are funding a country that very well may lose and maybe even cease to exist.
My point is Peace talks that were had in the beginning need to be revisited. I hate seeing innocent civilians die.

Yes, Ukraine can win.

If by ‘mass murder campaign,’ you are referring to the defense efforts by Ukraine against Russian invasion, then I can agree that Ukraine is killing a lot of Russian invaders. The situation in Ukraine is complex, and their struggle for sovereignty and territorial integrity is critical. To effectively counter the invasion, Ukraine would benefit from international assistance, including military aid from Western countries. Ultimately, a resolution that respects Ukraine’s sovereignty and includes the return of Crimea is essential.
