didnt you get the memo about camo night?
I did. Eff camo night. I didn't buy all these black Iowa Wrestling shirts to wear them around Ohio and PA having people give me dirty looks.

Some chick working at the PA outlet mall, seeing my shirt, started asking about Iowa Wrestling and where I went to school. When I told her IC CIty High she immediately changed tone and told me her husband beat Jeff McGinness in high school in a tournament, which was his only loss in HS. She also told me PSU Rules! and that Spencer Lee was going to go to PSU.

Needless to say I went back to that store after the announcement, wearing another Iowa shirt, and asked her if she was sure about Spencer Lee. She was not quite as smug the 2nd time. I also did not mention that I was quite a few years older than JM. I had decided to take it as a compliment that I looked much younger.

Pic of retail chick married to "peaked in HS guy?"

If Bo Jordan doesn't wrestle, who takes the mat for the Buckeyes?

I saw that match at the Dapper Dan all star event in Pittsburgh. Name was Tom Tomeo who went on to have a decent career at Clarion. Not close to McGinness.

That chick knows her onions, she was into mud wrestling.

Greatest tweet ever (ok, I-Mar gets the award for "I can't hear you from the bench boy.") I really like that Pletcher kid. He's put together something like a 20-2 record wrestling up at 141 as a true freshman.

Based on tom Ryan's recent interview and a big match up tweet from wrestlingbucks I don't think Bo is wrestling tomorrow.

Nervous about Clark vs Nato in this one. I'm afraid we're going to find out how injured Clark really might be.
I finally got a chance to watch Clark's match with Carpenter again. Given some chatter on here I kept a close eye on him favoring his shoulder. I thought I saw him just before his last takedown, while on his knees, reach out and then quickly pull his arm back. He then still got a takedown but used movement more than his arm to get it. Was this what others were alluding to?

Yes

I saw this too. I also saw Clark get a wrist with his arm bar and turn Carpenter for an easy 4 point tilt and enough for the TF. That's what I've been waiting to see. Sucks to see him with the shoulder. More than likely will make winning a title and uphill battle.

With so many injuries and lineup questions, hard to predict a score.

If Clark wrestles Tomasello, I'd favor Tomasello (especially if Clark is not completely healed).... he's looking awfully tough right now.

Haven't seen that much of Pletcher, but after Carton's PSU performance, I'm favoring Pletcher.

Besides the above, plenty of great matchups:

Sorenson v Jordan
Meyer v Jordan - hope Bo wrestles, a win would give Meyer a big boost
Brooks v Martin - see how well Brooks bounces back

I can't believe I am the only one on here who thinks Tomasello is the one who won't wrestle tonight. He is a lock for the 1 seed at Big Tens at this point, and Tom Ryan has never seen an opportunity to hold a guy out to help his seed that he didn't like. There is no upside (from a seeding standpoint) to NATO wrestling, only downside from where is already is. If he loses vs Clark it will hurt his seed, if he wins he will stay right where he is.

We may talk about it, joke about it, and it may even appear to be accurate some times, but do you Really think Ryan or any D1 Head Coach holds his guys out to protect seeds?

That really does seem to be a stretch. But then I've only got my tinfoil underwear on yet today. Haven't got the full outfit with antennae up and running yet.

Funny tweet from Luke Pletcher about this Friday:

After watching him for years in Pennsylvania ...he was probably one of the most DEFENSIVE wrestlers our state has ever produced...who benefited from NOT getting called very often for stalling WHEN HE CLEARLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN CALLED. Is he a good wrestler??? YES....does he sit back and wait for his opponent to do most of the shooting....YES...will this lack of activity on his feet go over well in Carver Hawkeye....HELL NO

Ryan absolutely does this. He and Manning are also the kings of negative recruiting.

OSU might be forfeiting 125 due to Rodriguez's knee. Any chance that Perez will go take the 6 and Gilman goes up to 133 and beats up on NaTo one last time? We could either rest Clark or bump him up to 141.

I know Brands doesn't do this often if ever but it would make sense if Rodriguez doesn't go again. Thoughts?

A move up is typically only done when the other wrestler isn't on there level. NATO is to good to give 8 pounds and expect to win.

Agree. One of my best memories in regard to this scenario is when Jeff Prescott (PSU National Champ at 118) moved up a weight to take on Terry Brands at Carver. Needless to say Terry physically abused Prescott and I enjoyed every single minute of it!!

He's not a lock for the 1 seed. Corys only loss is non conference and if they both finish 8-0 in big tens (Clark missed Purdue correct?) and NATO was scared of Clark then the coaches would definitely put Cory 1 and NATO 2.

How does Ryan negatively recruit? Please don't give me an answer like I heard from a friend of a friend. I am serious about the question he doesn't seem like thentype to do that. The only time i can remember hearing comments was when we lost the bull to you guys.
