Three people were shot early Saturday in Omaha at two locations, authorities said.

Among the victims were sisters Marquisha Baxter, 23, and Tynesha Baxter, 22, who were together when they were shot about 2:15 a.m. near 37th and Pratt Streets, said Officer Kevin Wiese, a police spokesman.

One of the women was shot in the chest and arm and taken in critical condition to the Nebraska Medical Center. The other was shot in the arm, perhaps twice, and taken to the same hospital in serious condition.

Both women were released from the hospital Saturday.

Police did not say whether the women were in a house, outdoors or in a vehicle when they were shot. Shell casings were found outside a vehicle that had been struck by rounds.

In the other incident, a person who had been shot arrived at Creighton University Medical Center in a private vehicle at about 1 a.m. Simon Jacob, 25, said he was shot near 28th and Seward Streets. Wiese said he is expected to survive.
