The wife brought home some spices for the annual attempt at making a pumpkin pie, and I decided to look in the cupboard at our aging stockpile of herbs and spices.
Anyone out there able to beat me on any of these? Cinnamon can be explained, but the cumin is a mystery.

I buy cumin, coriander, peppercorns, bay leaves, curry, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and a half dozen other, in bulk.
Cumin is your go to spice when making Mexican and Indian foods. It can be overpowering, so go easy with it.

Our corner cabinet lazy susan is overflowing with spice jars. I'm always surprised if a recipe calls for something I don't actually have on hand.
