Just heard that on the news. Those are American-born Latinos, btw. I'm assuming some are children of parents who aren't here legally, or weren't when the kids were born.

I don't know how that compares with other demographics but conventional wisdom holds that Hispanics breed faster than whites.

Can Republicans really continue to be wrong on immigration?

Is it time for Spanish to be the official language of the US?

Well that's certainly been a strong element in the GOP approach but you'd think that would backfire at some point.
Trump wants to outlaw Muslim people and he gets twice as much support as his next closest competitor. Clearly the GOP doesn't care about backfires.

Wait a second. You just point out the disaster of illegal aliens changing our culture, but then ask how Americans can continue to be wrong on immigration? Now I see why you are a liberal.

How do American-born voters get suppressed? Who has advocated that and by what means?

Really? Are you denying that it is a comprehensive plan on the part of Republicans to suppress voter turnout?

The Republican House Majority Leader in Pennsylvania said that voter ID laws in that state could, "deliver the state to Mitt Romney". Voter laws in North Carolina eliminated voting on Sunday, suppressing predominately black church voter drives. They made it harder for college students to register to vote. They eliminated same day voter registration. All of these are targeted at predominately Democratic voter populations.

Texas allows gun permits to serve as ID's, but not state issued college identification. Again, targeting predominately Democratic voters. Republicans have acknowledged that they seek to make it more difficult to vote, but are not suppressing the vote...Really?

All of that and more. Blacks are arrested and convicted at higher rates and many states take away voting rights from felons or those in prison. And let's not forget the blatant voter rolls purges (most famously in Florida in 2000). Then there are the voting districts that have closures, too few working voting machines, delayed delivery of ballots, and so on. Then there are the voting stations in black areas with a large, visible presence of cops.

And more and more.

I'm not saying that the Ds don't play games, too. But the Rs are masters at it and clearly winning that battle.

You either care about these things or you don't. I do. Way too many cons don't.

I've been voting in local, state and national elections for 30 years.......it's never been "hard" to vote......ever. When did the left make voting seem like quantum physics? When you guys do all this complaining.....you make your voters seem like idiots that need their hand held at every turn. I guess if the shoe fits.

According to all the surveys I have seen, immigration is not even a top five concerns among Hispanics. They are like all Americans. More concerned with jobs, economic growth and the economic welfare of the country. They are also very much in favor of choice in education.

Education, the income gap, and healthcare. Those are the issues Latinos care more about. None of those sound like winning issues for the GOP.

So that earned you some credit to make bigoted statements about a race?

Mighty white of you.
Yes, it is mighty white of me. But, no, I didn't earn credit to make bigoted remarks. From me, they aren't bigoted. What I and other consistent defenders of civil and human rights have earned is the presumption that we are not making a bigoted remark, even if it might come across that way.

Let's pretend for a moment that your view-of-self isn't extremely pretentious.

So, all Hispanics would agree that "Hispanics breed faster than whites."? They wouldn't get offended?

...and if they did you would just cite your accomplishments in the field of civil rights defense and make it all better.

That sounds like some impressive "Whitesplaining".

It's a talent.
