Ward has beaten the NCAA #2 and 4 on her way to the semis. She’ll have Dymond Guilford who is adding a bit of the Midlands of old to this tournament. If she can pull it off, I’m not sure how we don’t see Welker and Ward ranked 1 and 2 in the next poll.
These gals are good! Not just beating lesser competition, but beating them badly. The only time two Hawks faced each other they hugged after the match. That was nice. Kylie Welker is a woman among girls out there.
All but Schmit & Ward advance to the finals. Ward had a close 0-2 loss to Guliford, who is/was a Sr level world team member.
Dias vs. Gonzalez tied 6-6 in an all Iowa final at 101. Dias wins on criteria!
Ava Bayless loses 2-1 in her final. Up next is the other Gonzalez sister.
Brianna Gonzalez up 6-0 at the end of 1. Ends as champ at 116, 8-0.

Han had 5 pins and a TF which is weird for freestyle. Very cool.
Rather throw you than know you. Has no issue going upper body with taller lankier girls.

Curious if the Guilford losses for Welker and Ward will actually count towards their collegiate record. Post grad matches for the men are not recorded as part of their collegiate record.
That was a great match...lot m9re action than the score suggests.
Will be interesting if Brianna ends up at 109...she weighed in at 113.9 (I assume on the second day since some of the listed weigh ins were over)

Great matches .... I think I would pay just to watch Emilie and Sterling go at it in the room.

I read she's an international judo champion. Very good at throwing opponents straight to their back, as demonstrated here (on a beauty of an inside trip), after she goes down 4-0 on a counter (highlight is from the other school, so no video of the pin)...
