7-0 Iowa: Can the Hawkeyes make it 5-0 for 3rd time under KF?

The Hawkeyes have finished 5-0 in the final five Big Ten games twice before under Kirk Ferentz. In 2008, Iowa went 4-1 and finished with a bowl win.

From 2008 to 2010, Iowa won three straight bowl games, a program first, though each of those teams went 0-3 vs. Northwestern.

The two teams that finished 5-0 to close the Big Ten shared for a Big Ten Conference title in 2002 and 2004.

The days of sharing B1G football are over. It is a new era, one Iowa has yet to experience.

Urban Meyer said the Big Ten programs all need to up their games. Recruiting, facilities and the rest.

The 2013 Iowa team competed hard against Ohio State for three quarters. They came up short in the fourth quarter. Until this season, it was likely OC Greg Davis' best body of work.

Iowa was 3-2 in 2009, losing the Big Ten title at Columbus.

#1 problem for Iowa against better programs has been holding the edge. This will be an important area moving forward in 2015.

Keys to Iowa success under Ferentz.

If you go back and watch the best Hayden Fry teams, a highlight was in the OL with Kirk Ferentz developing outstanding linemen. Other coaches were extremely focused as well.

The 2002 season was Kirk Ferentz' fourth season at Iowa with his first set of coordinators. This season is Year 4 under his second set of coordinators.

We have witnessed outstanding good times in Iowa City, since 1981. Yes, we have witnessed our share of disappointments, especially 1998 and 2012. The 1993 season was wasn't pretty in the bowl loss to Cal.

This season has certainly been a great beginning with 7 outstanding games. A grounded team showing outstanding resiliency as a Team.

Next man in hasn't missed a beat. Iowa has faced injuries over the years, they are a part of the game.

Plenty of landmines ahead, but ultimately Iowa controls it's own destiny. The 7-0 start has provided Iowa with that opportunity, which is extremely rare in Hawkeye history.

Utah was taken down last night at USC. Michigan and Florida State were beat by outstanding special teams plays to close out games.

Iowa, Ohio State and Michigan State all remain undefeated. Can any of them remain undefeated before the end of Big Ten play? TWO is the highest possible result.

It would be great for the Big Ten, if it happens.

Injuries happen, Baylor is the latest program to be hit there, much like Iowa in 2009 at the quarterback position.

LSU and Clemson are playing very well. Houston and Memphis must meet, so someone will fall. How 'bout those Pitt Panthers staying at a high level, since the Uowa game, in the ACC.

The 2015 season will hopefully end with Iowa playing for the highest possible outcomes. It will not be an easy path.

It is Great to be a Hawkeye. I have enjoyed being a Hawkeye fan, since the days of 0-11.

Remain humble, remain grounded 2015 team; you have an opportunity to finish at a very high level for an Iowa team.
