Over 7 million pounds of Boar's Head brand deli meats are being recalled amid a bacterial outbreak that has killed two people. The outbreak, which began in late May, has sickened a total of 34 people across 13 states, leading to 33 hospitalizations, according to the US Department of Agriculture.

On June 26, Boar's Head recalled 207,528 pounds of products, including liverwurst, beef bologna, ham, salami, and "heat and eat" bacon. On Tuesday, the Jarratt, Virginia-based company expanded the recall to include about 7 million additional pounds of meat, including 71 different products sold on the Boar's Head and Old Country brand labels. The products were sold nationwide.

Anyone wanna venture a guess what happens in instances like this if Project2025 replaces most of your federal workers with party-affiliated lackeys, and someone high up in government has a bunch of stock in the same company....???

So, no.

This particular incident has nothing to do with Project 2025.

But if you elect the folks pushing Project 2025, and they remove 70% of the federal workforce and replace them with political appointees beholden to top level politicians, you may find that when one of those politicians has a serious vested interest in a company like Boar's Head, there may be no "recall" or even any public information out there of any listeria outbreaks that kill people. Maybe one of your children could be a "lucky victim" in that instance.

Fine. Then elect bureaucrats instead of having our elected representatives appoint them.

But they should NOT be untouchable by our elected representatives, and many of them act like they're above the fray of politics and are accountable to no one.

Why not just hire them based on qualifications, like we do now, instead of what Project 2025 wants to do which is employ them all based on "party loyalty" or "politician loyalty"....???

Trump says a little listeria or occasional E-coli riddled food is good for the system. Weeds out the weak and makes those that recover stronger (and he thinks immune to any disease).

So basically they're saying that this deli meat is even more toxic to your health than normal.

Using your HR experience, how much do you think it would cost to onboard a couple thousand newly elected people every cycle? I have no idea, but it seems like a really efficient way to blow up a budget to placate some feelings.

A dozen more cases reported recently. 57 people over 18 states. Awful. Turkey, ham, liverwurst. This is gonna damage the chances of the Ham sandwich over Trump.

Sounds like a well run plant ...

In February, an inspector found "ample amounts of blood in puddles on the floor" and a "rancid smell" throughout a cooler used at the plant.

A number of records also flag sightings of insects in and around deli meats at the plant, including one instance that prompted the agency to tag more than 980 pounds of ham in a smokehouse hallway to be "retained" for an investigation.

In June, another record flagged concerns over flies going in and out of "vats of pickle" left by Boar's Head in a room.

"Small flying gnat like insects were observed crawling on the walls and flying around the room. The rooms walls had heavy meat buildup," they wrote.

In July, federal inspectors found what looked to be mold and mildew around the hand washing sinks for the workers tasked with meats that are supposed to be ready to eat.
Mold was also found building up outside of steel vats used by the plant, previous records show, as well as in holding coolers between the site's smokehouses.
"A black mold like substance was seen throughout the room at the wall/concrete junction. As well as some caulking around brick/metal," they wrote in January, saying some spots were "as large as a quarter."
Other locations were found to have a number of issues with leaking or pooling water, including a puddle found to have "a green algal growth" inside and condensation that was found to be "dripping over product being held."
After inspectors flagged one of the leaks to the company, workers tried to mop up the leaks.

Corporate profits are way up. That is all that matters.

I got back from my fishing trip last week and the wife had picked me up some boar's head pitmaster smoked turkey. Stuff is tasty. I was sick for 2 days after eating it. Not on the recall list, but I regret throwing out my homemade bacon now thinking it could be the culprit.

I expect to see a lot of Boar's Head ads during college football games.
