Exactly! That nightmare comes to mind immediately when mentioned. And we totally owned NW up to that play.
I still wonder if that team could have been BCS Champs with no Stanzi injury and if Shonn Greene came back for his Sr year...
Without a doubt they would of been in any game. Sigh.....We needed New Kirk at OSU that year.
I don't know that Iowa would have been in the national title game... 13-0 Alabama vs 13-0 Texas that year wasn't it?

And we chose to go to OT with 2 TO's on the road with momentum in the 4th qtr...very similar time and field position to this year Pitt game when we went for the win with only 1 TO I believe...

You are correct...we probably wouldn't have had the chance that year but it could have made the BCS sweat a little to have an undefeated B1G team at 12 - 0....

Certainly what you say is true. It just bears mentioning that there is an often forgotten detail. Iowa opened the drive with a pass play that was negated by an Ohio State penalty that wound up as a pick 6 for the Ohio State TD. Given that fact and a redshirt freshman making his first start, you can understand the thought process. In hindsight, I'd rather have given it another shot there, but there was a little more to it.

No. That was an earlier drive. Iowa opened the last regulation time drive/possession with a run play that lost 2 yards (or, at least, gained very little).

Also false. After careful analysis, Doodle has come to the conclusion that CJ is a T-1000, and as such, his legs literally can't be broken.
Even if that was true, Iowa still needs to rely on their QB in OT to win. Either way he was going to have to throw it at some point. That was a stupid decision then to go for the tie with the Rose Bowl on the line. #attack!!
It all ended up well...we still got a BCS game against an opponent we really matched up well against and won by double digits...should have been worse, we outgained GT 400 to like 150 yards...
