This was, unfortunately, a typical Fox News Channel hysterical overreaction. The rule is perfectly reasonable and proper, and the authorities were correct to react the way they did.
9/11 needs no more patriotism or jingoism pushed its way, and especially not at its memorial.
And who died making you king?
Prince.
This might be the best come back I have ever read on these forums. Please tell me it's original to you.Prince.

Guarantee had there been a dozen Muslims there on Prayer rugs praying to Allah, Nothing would have been said..
Not surprised. The 9/11 memorial is a joke. It's a police state down there. Metal detectors, 3D scans, they even require you to remove your shoes to get in. Nothing says freedom like having to taking off your shoes to prove you don't have a weapon.
Well. that's an interesting position, but that isn't what happened here. The thing was planned in advance. The kids and their teacher meant well. They just didn't follow a very reasonable rule because they didn't know about it.I don't want to live in a society that bans people from spontaneously breaking out in song.

Says every Broadway or Disney fan ever!I don't want to live in a society that bans people from spontaneously breaking out in song.
Singing is a form of expression, which is considered a form of speech, and therefore, is protected activity.

In my case, I don't want to live in a society where I can't visit my brother's grave because some hippy asshole might sing a protest song. And I really don't want to live in a society where a government agent can arbitrarily decide which song is OK and which isn't.

I didn't see anyone smoking all the times I went there. I would have loved to see someone flick their used butt in one of these though. And you probably can't smoke anywhere, either.
Prince.
Point of order, would that not just make you prince? Elvis dying would have made a king. Order of succession and all...
I caught that, but it seemed to be working.
