I went through and checked the box scores...I admit I'm suffering from the flu and half doped up on cough syrup but I'm pretty sure that's correct.

Iowa wins roughly 88% of the time when tied or leading to start the fourth quarter since 1999.

The fact that we have always prided ourselves on running the ball and not turning the ball over seems to be a solid recipe for holding on to wins.

So Iowa is 29-73 when trailing heading into the 4th quarter. The good, the bad and the ugly.

I would think, logically, that these type of statistics would hold true for most programs and coaches.

What is the percentage after the 4th quarter?

It's probably not THAT different from our numbers, but I'd suspect we are a little better than average with the lead and a little worse than average without it. Just my guess.
I would assume this is an accurate statement. It is kind of how we are built as a program and a team.....when it works its working it looks beautiful, when it does not it looks oh so awful. So many close losses throughout the KF tenure can be frustrating, but at the same time our team no matter the talent level is always in every game (some for the good some for the bad)....this year was a little different though

This is somewhat distorted because of 1999 and 2000. Iowa's 3-20 record in those two seasons are such outliers they have almost no impact on the leading after 3 quarters stat because Iowa wasn't leading any of those games.

This is better than I would have guessed.

Still, a lot of heart attacks in those 98 wins!
