A.C.C. Pulls League Championships Out of North Carolina

It ABSOLUTELY is discrimination! Picking winners and losers is the definition of discrimination!

Wow delusional.

So when FSU beats Boston College they discriminated against Boston College. When a judge in a civil suit rules against Driver A in a wreck against Driver B. Driver A has been discriminated against? At the local fair those people that didn't win best blueberry pie are now being discriminated against?

We've already decided the gender and sexual orientation are protected classes. At worst, it's implied just like the right to privacy is implied.

I also find it kinda find you are now whining about executive orders. Especially cause the NC governor issued an executive order to "modify" some aspects of the bill.

Can you help me understand which executive orders are good and which are bad?

NO!

All of this hinges on the Civil Rights Act of 1964, that banned discrimination on the basis of "sex" (among other things).

In 1964, Congress meant "women" when banning discrimination on the basis of "sex." They sure as hell didn't mean LGBTQs.

PASS A LAW or STFU.

It doesn't matter what they meant, just what they wrote in the law. Plain meaning beats mind reading.

Is that really the same as a man walking into the girls lookerroom at the local ymca and sitting down on the bench and watching little girls change clothes and declaring himself transgendered if challenged?

Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure if some guy is walking into boys locker rooms at the local YMCA and sitting down on the bench and watching the little boys change clothes he's going to get in a good deal of trouble, and most likely end up on the front page of the paper. Ditto with a woman and a girls locker room.

Assuming the FSU vs. BC game wasn't fixed, then no, that's competition.

Assuming the judge didn't rule because he liked Driver A more than Driver B personally, then no, that's not discrimination.

Assuming the judges picked the best blueberry pie based on taste and not personal knowledge of the bakers, then no, that's not discrimination.

Try this on:

The government has a job opportunity. The government decides that you must have X years of experience and a degree in Y and a certification in Z in order to get that job.

The government is (legally) discriminating against those who don't have X, Y and Z.

And that's a good thing.

Yay, Discrimination!

The A.C.C. Council of Presidents made it clear that the core values of this league are of the utmost importance, and the opposition to any form of discrimination is paramount,” Commissioner John Swofford said in a statement. “Today’s decision is one of principle.”

Any form of discrimination, John? So, the guy who works selling beer in the stands was discriminated against because he couldn't compete for your job, John? Is that what you're trying to say?

Discrimination based on experience, education, certification and other bona fide characteristics required for the job is a form of discrimination, John.

This is a dangerous road we're walking down, folks.

But, you said picking winners and losers is the definition of discrimination. Now it's not? So which is it Trad?

So, the state has an examination you have to pass to become a lawyer. If you fail to pass that exam, you can't get a license to practice law, even though you graduated from law school. That is a form of discrimination, is it not?

NO

It absolutely is!

Teachers tell us all the time that good students sometimes do poorly on standardized exams, and this effect disproportionately affects minorities.

WE SHOULD LET PEOPLE WHO CAN'T PASS TESTS BECOME LAWYERS BECAUSE IT WOULD BE DISCRIMINATORY TO NOT DO SO!!!!!
