In rewatching the game today, I noticed Gus' comment about Bobby Stoops watching "from his home" as they showed him and his wife sitting in Kinnick Stadium. Gus didn't make a mistake. He simply meant that Iowa City and Kinnick Stadium were "home" to Stoops.

Gus did make a few mistakes Saturday--"Hawkins" rather than "Hankins," e.g.--but that "home" comment was not one of them. In fact, it was a subtle and clever acknowledgment of Stoops' unflagging support for his alma mater, KF, and the Hawkeye program.

He's the best in the biz. He can make as many name miscues all he wants. His passion and love for the game come thru that mic like no one other.

Agree, his excitement is unparalleled. Who cares if he mis-pronounces a name.
