A Facebook crazy in my friends list...

You ain't gonna touch your original claim here, are you?

$20 a dose is CLEARLY a reasonable price for these vaccines (at least in Western economies).
I’m going to clear up your confusion on that as well, but first acknowledge how Phizer profited $4.4 billion when non-COVID revenue was only up $.7 billion

Acknowledge reality and we can address your other errors.

You know you’re a disingenuous twat, right?

Drug
noun
  1. a medicine or other substance which has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body.
You, pointing disingenuous at another? Now that’s good HROTing, there.

Come at me, bro. ;)

Gormless worm here is an interesting case.
Presented the facts he can't acknowledge having been wrong.
We realize he knows he was wrong. He just can't bring himself to acknowledge it.

It's fascinating watching his persistent evasions.
He does it differently than you. He just edits out the part he can't bring himself to acknowledge, but otherwise tries to respond.
You go for the "lol" and dip without offering a personal opinion.

e.g.
Are you excited by the potential for declining real wages to reduce consumption? Over 2% last year!
Insofar as inflation undermines sufficient investment in increasing production by facilitating present consumption it achieves your goal of de-growth.

Lol. We’ve been down this road so many times. You are probably to most persistently disingenuous “debaters” in this place. Funny you charge Joe with these things. It’s you that excerpts and isolates rather than dealing with the full story, avoiding and evading, ducking and dodging, like some gifted defensive boxer. It’s why I don’t bother with you.

You’re a wannabe Ben Shapiro, thinking yourself some master debater, when really it’s just a game of excerpts, nuts and cherrypicks, stubbornly sticking to only the interpretations of things that favor where you are already mentally, and surely emotionally, committed.

So I don’t bother. You’re not dumb, but your determined pride kinda renders you dumb. Or at least blocked. You don’t want to understand any thing beyond how you’ve already decided that thing to be. You just want to belligerently, and disingenuously, stick to your usually weak-ass scripts.

But carry on as you will. Just know that these things you think Joe does, you do. Remarkably well, of course. Because you’re you.

In this thread many people put bullshit stuff on the internet discussing some other bullshit some butt**** put on the internet.

(Lion king theme music plays in the background)

It's the circle........... the circle of jerk..............

Incorrect. This is a persistent projection by you, belied by the fact I'm always asking you questions. I'm trying to understand what information drove you to your conclusions. Instead of discuss what forms those opinions you bail when you hit a new idea.

For instance, your incorrect assumption that finite material dictates finite wealth.

As I mentioned then, the material that makes up your computer is just elements and alloys of negligible value to you in their raw material form. But combined by the application of human understanding they are made into something that is much more valuable. Can you not see the absurdity on supposing your own creativity is some kind of limit on what others could make even more valuable from the same material?

When presented with that notion, do you rethink your concept on the finiteness of wealth?
How does material finiteness on this planet prevent the creation of new software, with value to mankind, thereby creating wealth?

Or do you just blank out that information you hadn't previously considered, and persist in your previous assessment that wealth is actually finite?

:: drumroll for the "lol" ::

Not going to read all of this. This goes back to Bernie. You excerpted him and defined his entire politics based on one except of one quote. I implored you to look into his career a bit more in depth, clueing you to some low-hanging fruit stuff, and you not only refused, you essentially deemed anything beyond that excerpt of that quote meaningless—only that excerpt of that quote mattered to you, and that was that.

I made the mistake of presuming you in good faith, despite the obvious signs to the contrary, and so now I just mostly avoid you or drive-by ridicule you.

You, like Joe, simply cannot bear to be wrong. You’re not the greatest judge of disingenuous, my man, because being disingenuous is your baseline, your point of origin with pretty much anything you choose to argue.

Your other trick, of course, is to immediately drive an issue to its most extreme points, ignoring the vast space in between, again, like Shapiro. And, again, this is disingenuous to the core.

It’s what you do.

Evasion. Like I said, you do it differently than he does.

That’s untrue. I had already read about him and his inane policy preferences. I read some more at your urging, but you refused to discuss his repeated calls for nationalization of various industries, and how nationalization is at odds with your assertion he prefers competition.

If I link to those posts, will you throw the “lol” smoke bomb and disappear from the thread entirely, or would you acknowledge what you wrote isn’t true?

Even in this you draw an inaccurate generalization then characterize Bernie’s policies unfairly. Had you done real reading, you would recognize that his policies actually are much less binary and more a mix, and have an actual history of demonstrating actual success—not just in general economic terms, but in terms of promoting more balanced competition.

You won’t acknowledge this because it runs counter to your already-determined and fixed (ideological) perceptions.

There is really no point in attempting to discuss anything with you.

I read in full. When I don’t, which is extremely rare, I acknowledge it transparently.

I really don’t think you know the actual definitions of words. I am the absolute opposite of disingenuous. But I’m not willing to play your games. Which is what this is for you—games.

Do you think human creativity is a finite resource?

I’m going to clear up your confusion on that as well
No, I don't think you are.

Let's compare Pfizer's overall 2021 revenues and profits against historical annual revenues and profits. Because, as I see it, they're on track for around $20B in profits this year, which is comparable to what they made a few years ago as well. And if revenues are "similar" in 2021 to what they were in 2018 (or whenever) then you can presume they made similar overall margins on their sales.

But if in 2021, they have substantially higher revenues, but similar profits to a past year, that would be a clear indicator that ONE reason is the margins on much of that "higher revenue number" were a lot lower than you want to admit...

Vaccine doses for common vaccines are not $150 each.
"Hepatitis" and "HPV" and "rabies" vaccines aren't the "norm".

Your chutzpah is off the charts.
By all means, argue drug pricing with the CFO of Phizer. I’m sure you can explain a lot to him.

So, AGAIN: We have written documentation that the vaccine doses for Covid are running about $15-19 each (Pfizer, Moderna, JNJ).

Are you going to admit that these are not "$150 pandemic pricing" here, or not?

No, I don't think you are.
I only will if you tell me where Phizer got $4.4 billion dollars more profit when non-Covid revenue was only $.7 billion higher.

Where did those profits come from?
You’re afraid to say it, because it contradicts your bullshit above.

No, I'm explaining to you that $20/dose vaccine doses cannot account for substantial increases in profits, despite large revenues.

You name-dropped a CFO's out-of-context statement, and now you're running away from that as fast as you can.

No, I don’t.

Can you understand that material infused with new creativity is an endless fount of wealth?
If so, why would you think there is a limit to wealth?

Do you think creativity can only flourish via unbridled capitalism?
I think it flourishes there like nowhere else.
It thrives on choice.
Do you think it was socialist creativity, or the stifling bureaucracy of central planning, that kept the Trabant without a real design change in four decades?

Consolidation and centralization function to limit choice, and thereby curtail creativity.
Individual creativity is just another unaccounted for problem under central planning.

No, I'm explaining to you that $20/dose vaccine doses cannot account for substantial increases in profits, despite large revenues.
Explaining how?

I gave you the numbers from their earnings statement.

$4.4 billion more in profits, non-COVID business only increased revenue by $.7

Where did those profits come from that are in excess of the non-COVID business revenue?
