Congratulations to Quean Smith and to his Family. Nice job. Can't help but feel for the kid (I'll save my normal Liberal Arts jokes for a less serious time........).

I expected him to have a DI career similar to Jarod Trice of CMU. They both wrestled for the same High School Team and Smith actually looked more refined coming out of Highland Park. I was honestly disappointed that he has struggled. Now that I read the issues he had to overcome, I am impressed he managed to stay on the team and graduate.
It just goes to show how hard it is to be successful at the DI level. There are so many things outside of wrestling that you have to take care of at the same time!

Yep, from an academic and life standpoint it's a good thing.
That doesn't really explain why he came in at 3 1/2 bells after being put on scholarship though............
A whole year out of high school & not competing. Trying to pass necessary classes & 6 ACT test. Probably wasn't working out much that year
