...is that it is an IOWA team. We all know it's impossible for any school to have an entire roster of in-state kids, but for me, at least, it's a whole lot more fun to cheer for an Iowa team that includes as many Iowans as possible.
The current roster lists 8 Iowa kids, and that would be 9 if you include Gesell*, who is just across the river and played AAU ball in Iowa. And most of the Iowa kids aren't just deep reserves, either:
Uthoff from Cedar Rapids
Woodbury (and Gesell*) from Sioux City
Jok from Des Moines
Baer from Bettendorf
Jones from Waterloo
Plus the Soukups from Danville, Iowa, and Okey Ukah from Iowa City.
That's pretty cool, I think, and then mix in the kids from Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and, of course, Germany, and you've got a great roster.
