16 years ago we last won an NCAA tourney game to go to the sweet 16. We let that coach go because he supposedly only won 20 games a year and won only one tourney game a year. 16 year later we are at the same point. I don't want to go backwards, but want to look at where we have come. 5 years ago we hired Fran and this is what has followed;
1. year 1-we have little talent or fan interest and it's a bad year
2. year2- we make then NIT and win one game before losing on their home court
3. year 3- we make the NIT championship game.
4. year 4- we make the ncaa tourney before losing in OT on their home court.
5. year 5- we make the ncaa tourney and win a game before losing to the 2 seed.
I think I like that trend. Fran is a very good coach who has taken 4 teams to the tourney, which has been done only a few times.
