This attached article details how the Koch network has funded and financed Jodi Ernst after identifying her as a politician with their like values. I realize that this happens from both sides, but it turns out the Democratic fears of having an Iowa politician that is closely affiliated with a carbon polluting suppressor of worker's rights has come true. I realize most of the righties on the board won't read the article, but, while you can argue she is her own politician (remains to be seen), you cannot argue that she is bought and paid for.

Not surprisingly, there was nothing in it that would indicate Ernst is bought and paid for, but it was an interesting article. Glad to see somebody on the conservative side is looking for young talent and giving it a boost.

The political climate in America has always had politicians
who take hand outs and scratch the back of those who help
them. Jodi Ernst is from the small state of Iowa and may
have gotten contributions from a variety of sources. However,
she is not the robot of any financial backers.

I contribute small amounts to candidates. I don't own them. Significant contributions of money from individuals, corporations, industry groups and such are a different animal entirely from public funding or small individual donations.

I would not suggest that she has been instructed to vote for/against any bill. However, they searched for and found a candidate that very closely supported their views, especially economic views. They then financed that bid. Again, they paid for the candidate they wanted. Bought and paid for.

The SCOTUS has decided the wealthy gets an outsized choice in who is elected president.
