to kill some time till tomorrows game,

William is projected to play the point, MY ? is does Fran RS him and let him learn for year under MG and AC or does he let him get minimal playing time?

thoughts on what you would do, RS or garbage minutes?

I would RS but Fran and most D1 coaches don't seem to do that any more. Players don't want to sit a year and I think they're basically forced to tell them during recruiting that they won't RS.

I say let him play. With Gesell and Clemmons being seniors it would be good to get him some real-time minutes on the court.

unless someone gets injured I don't see a reason for anyone to RS.

Get him 5-8 mpg next year, preferably playing alongside MG or AC for most of them. Then his SO year he has some experience and will hopefully be ready to play 20-25 mpg. Use a FR, say a Charlie Moore or even a combo type like Santos, and someone like Fleming or Moss to pick up the rest.

If you RS him then your starting PG hasn't played one second in a college game. Unless you're talking a top 30 type FR, that's a really bad idea.

Okay. Here's a rumor that I seriously doubt, but here goes. Tyler Ulis is having a great experience at UK this year. But with the Harrison's potentially returning and 5* PG Isaiah Briscoe already signed, he knows he'll never get to be a 30+min/game player for the Wildcats. Realistically at 5'7", an NBA career is uncertain. The rumor is that he is considering a transfer. Since Iowa was a close runner-up, and will be wide open at PG in 2016-17, could there be a match? Not saying there is any truth here, but others have transferred from UK under Calipari's watch. Gonzaga's Wiltjer is one.. Anyone else heard this?

I should clarify, I did actually hear this second hand, from a U of I student with ties to the team. All he said was that Ulis is going to transfer. His reasoning and speculation about Iowa is my conjecture. It's not illogical however to assume that Ulis is friends with Iowa players or some of the incoming Illinois recruits.

During the Kentucky game today, the announcers said only 3 players are getting more playing time than Ulis and that he is averaging 25 minutes a game. Doubt if a transfer is in the works.

To add to the Ulis rumor. Here is what I think. Fran wanted him to spy on Kentucky for a year. Now he's got the goods on Calipari and when he transfers to Iowa he's gonna squeal.

That's it for Kentucky folks! We got the video, the tapes, even DNA and names and addresses of the persons involved.

The lesson here is College Basketball is business, cold, dirty business.

As to Williams, play him when we can. Better for the next year.

sounds good one slight thing has to be considered is that Connor is the starting PG for ICW and is a PG and may end up in the top 50 in the 2017 class. and would share the PG spot as a RSFR and as a True FR or Williams will be a SO, the PG position should not be a problem.
6'5/6 Fleming has played the PG spot
6'5 Moss according to his HS coach can play the PG position
6'6 Williams may end up the starting PG
6'6/7 S antos is another that can play the PG position
6'5 C Mc is a starting PG
what a line in the 2016-17 group

PG 6'6 Williams backup 6'5 McCaffery
SG 6'4 Ellingson backups 6'5 Fleming/ 6'5 Moss
SF 6'8 Uhl backup 6'6 Hutton maybe 6'6 Santos
PF 6'7 Wagner backup 6'8 Pemsyl
C ???

that is a lot of versatility in that group that only one not committed is Santos and even if IA not get Santos that still is a solid group to add a 6'10 or taller big to.

5 guys coming in so far, with a 6th likely to be added. i would say its likely someone redshirts, possibly whoever projects as a 3 and would sit behind uthoff/uhl.

Ulis won't be kept off the court, even at Kentucky, and i don't care who they bring in, he IS that good.

But yeah, I am sure he is growing tired of winning every game they play and winning national championships playing for the best team in the country.

I am sure a transfer to Iowa is definitely in the works.

I say garbage minutes so he at least has some experience when he is a sophomore as opposed to coming in without having played a single minute.

Ullis is very good, but he is not the type of player that would have an impact like Ronnie Lester did.
