I honestly don't think anyone reminds me of them. There are a lot of guys that take a lot of shots(and a lot of good/great shots BTW) and keep their feet moving forward. They Keep the pressure on. I think you were right on these three, and I would throw Z Retherford in there. What none of them do to remind me of TnT is that unrelenting in your face intensity. That "I know for SURE that there is no way I will run out of gas before you do" attitude. The knowing with out a doubt that I have put the work in before hand that will allow to me endure ANYTHING that you or I do out here on this mat today.

That is what amazed me about them(and a lot of other Hawks in that era BTW)

Go Hawks!!

The only guy recently who really reminded me of the Brands brothers was Metcalf. His style and movement was very reminiscent of them. It's not just the volumes of shots, they just had a way of moving that was different and more physical.

Disagree on all examples. Brands were so agreesive and free in there wrestling. No one wrestles with that kind of abandon. No fear. Take me to my back? I will win 32-28.
Not one since.

Loved watching them wrestle. You don't see that style much. A match here and there but not consistently. The best parts are letting them up then attacking.

I know he wrestles for a huge rival, but Nolf very much reminds me of them. He even has the mean look on his face throughout the match. No one, including retherford and Snyder is as relentless as he is. It sometimes makes him look a bit sloppy, but no one can match his pace and he is brutal on the head. Even when Martinez beat him, he did it by using he underhooks to drastically slow down the pace and keep him off his neck. The fact that he will be the only guy to keep IMar from joining Sanderson as the only 4time undefeated champs as a FRESHMAN is pretty amazing!

Maybe just me.......
No one wrestled like this anymore.
No one.

My thoughts as well. ^^ Several of those opponents were also very salty wrestlers too. That was not a highlight reel where the Brands were whipping on nobodies. Good stuff, thanks for posting.

Yea, no. Different style and even pace.
Brands was no funk, no nonsense, in your face all the time all day and chase you in the stands in every match. Grab the head and grab the leg and go. I know people want to project PSU into everything but the brands were truly something special to watch.

Agreed on Nolf. That kid was born to be a Hawk. Even looks like an Iowa wrestler.

1. There is no hesitation when a scoring opportunity it there.

2. There is no such thing as a half shot. You can see situations where today people stop if there is resistance. The Brands just persisted on through and that is all about effort and knowing you have the gas tank to keep on trucking the whole match.
